𝐓𝐰𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐞

Chapter 12

It was the day after the festival and Elijah was walking towards the Salvatore's hut. He was going to ask Stefan for permission to court Katherine. Even though they have been seeing each other, he still need permission from her guardian. 

Elijah reached the hut and knocked, waiting patiently for someone to answer the door. The door flew open and he was greeted by Elena. "Hello Elena." 

"Hi Elijah. What can I do for you?" Elena asked with a smile. 

"Is Stefan here?" Elijah asked. 

"Yeah, come in. I'll go get him." Elena said as she shut the door behind Elijah. "Have a seat. Would you like something to drink?" Elena asked. 

"No thank you." Elijah polity declined. Elena walked off and went to Stefan's room. "Stefan." Elena called from the doorway. Stefan looked up from his diary. 

"Yes, Elena?" Stefan questioned. 

"Elijah is here to see you." Elena said. "Tell him I'll be out in a minute." Stefan said. "Okay." Elena walked out of his room and walked back to where Elijah was standing. 

"He'll be out in a minute." Elena said as she walked towards the table to start making bread. Elena and Stefan were the only ones awake. Caroline, Jenna, and Katherine were all sleeping in late.

Stefan walked out of the room and towards Elijah. "Hello Elijah, What brings you by so early?" Stefan asked as he sat down. Elijah sat down across from him. 

"As you probably know Katerina and I have been spending time together lately...I would like you permission to court her." Elijah said. 

Stefan was quiet for a moment. Ever since they arrived Katherine had been happy since she started spending time with Elijah. Stefan smiled at Elijah, "You have my permission. You have made her the happiest, I don't think I have ever seen her so happy." Stefan said. 

"Thank you, Stefan." Elijah shook his hand.

Kol and Elena were walking side by side. "So what do you like to do in your free time?" Kol asked. 

"I like to read and sometimes I'll write." Elena says. As she lets her hand slip into Kol's. "What about you?" Elena asked. 

"I like to practice magic." Kol said. Elena had almost forgotten about the Mikaelsons being witches. 

"How long have you practice magic for?" Elena asked. 

"Um...3 years I believe." Kol said thinking about when he found out he possessed magic. "When I was first learning, I accidentally almost set Elijah and Nik on fire." 

Elena looked at Kol and raised her eyebrows, "Are you sure it wasn't on purpose?" She asked. 

Kol huffed, "Whatever." 

Elena quietly laughed at Kol's pouty face. "It's beautiful, don't you think?" Elena asked, as they stopped by the falls, the afternoon sun partly covered due to the clouds. Elena looked out at the waterfall and the river, she loved the way the sun reflected off of the water, even when it was kinda covered by the clouds. It was a beautiful sight. 

"Yeah it very beautiful." Kol smiled looking at Elena as she looked at the waterfall. 

"Back home...My old village, we had a place similar to this, and my parents used to take me there when I was little." Elena said thinking back to her memories with her parents at the falls.

Kol was quiet, he thought abut his life growing up. There wasn't many great memories with his parents...maybe a few with his mother but none with his father. He only ever really counted on his siblings.
