Beth stopped before she got close to Charles' room, she played with the ends of her shirt unsure if she should really go and talk with him. There was nothing specific she wanted to ask him either, she just wanted to talk with him. To hear his voice. She felt absolutely ridiculous now that she was so close to him. Sighing softly, Beth turned around to walk back to her own room.

"Beth?" Charles poked his head out from his door, stopping her from leaving, "Good, I was just thinking about you."

"Did you..." Beth paused and faced him, he was a good few feet away from her, "Did you read my mind from outside of your room?"

"Sorry, love, your thoughts are pretty loud." Charles propped himself the frame of his door while she approached him, "I'll work on it."

Beth halted in front of him right before walking into his room, her head cocked to the side while she looked up at him, "If my thoughts are too loud, shouldn't I work on it?"

"That is a good point." He ushered her into the room and shut the door gently, "I could help with that if you'd like."

Beth took in his entire room, it was about as plain as her own other than books riddled along the room, "I'd like that..." She picked up one of the various books, "Into the Science of Mutation?" She turned to face him again, raising an eyebrow in piqued interest.

"Ah-" Charles reached for the book, "I studied this in college." He took a seat on his bed, "I'm simply rereading it for fun."

"Hm." Beth hummed as she propped herself next to him, "Looks interesting."

"Not to many." Charles chuckled, "Others perceive things such as this differently, but yes, it is very interesting."

Bethany breathed in heavily when she realized how close they were leaning to one another, she readjusted herself, "Um... I want... Well, I want to ask about my mutations."

A breathy laugh came out of Charles, "Is that so?" He now shifted on the bed to sit more comfortably with her beside him, "About the sun and moon, am I correct?"

Swallowing a little, she honestly did not want or need to know much about her mutation, she just did not know what she was doing with Charles in his room, "I-Yes, I want to understand why... why are they there?" She lifted her arms up, "Here..."

"Well, the sun does represent heat, Beth. And the moon is what moves the tides of the ocean." Charles explained to her softly, "It does make sense if you think about it more logically and metaphorically."

Without even thinking, "I'm not logical."

Charles chuckled at this, he wanted to comment on how she works for the CIA and most definitely has more intelligence than she believes, "Then, allow me to inform you more logically. Then maybe, you'd have more of an understanding of your mutations and birthmarks."

Beth shifted on the bed, leaving her shoes on the ground instinctively to sit all the way on the mattress. Her hands clasped together on her lap while she waited for his explanation.
