The class with Mr. Macao had just ended. The bell rang not too long ago. Lucy and Erza were currently on their way to meet their friends at their usual place. Lucy couldn't believe herself. She let her nerves get the best of her. They had distracted her from learning.

Her mind was uneasy. Her home life was terrifying to her. She hated living there. At this point, she felt like screaming and crying, but it was something she couldn't do, at least not here. Besides, she refused to let people find out of what goes on in her mansion.

The voices of people could be heard all around. The footsteps of students made sounds. Everyone was socializing with one another. However, not so much with two girls.

It was an awkward silence. Lucy didn't say a word nor did Erza. Lucy was so focused on what she was going to say from her mouth to her friends. Erza was still worried for the blonde and still pondered on what could possibly be troubling her.

As much as she was concerned for her new buddy, she wouldn't want to force her to tell what was wrong.

I wouldn't want to pressure her. That would be a terrible move. I want to respect her privacy and wishes so I'll leave her alone for now.

Not before long, the two females reached the area they had been heading for. They saw all their friends waiting like always. The group stopped chatting for a moment, turning their heads to face them.

"Hey, you two!" Levy was in a cheerful mood. Her smile was bright as she was glad to see the two ladies that stood in front of her.

"Hiya!" said Natsu.

Lucy would wave to all of them. "Hey, you guys!"

"Hello, everyone," said Erza with a small grin on her expression. "How were your classes?"

"Eh, they were alright I guess," said Gray. "Fire breath kept falling asleep while Mr. Wakaba was teaching though."

"Hey! It's not my fault I was so tired!" Natsu spat, a flame rising inside. "Mr. Wakaba's class is so borin!"

A smirk suddenly appeared on Gray's face. "Hmph, I shoulda known you would say something like that."

Having a feeling that a fight was about to start, the scarlet woman gave them a death glare, causing the two boys to jump back in fear. They embraced each other. Lucy couldn't help but be in awe watching this.

Erza seemed to have a thing for making sure the two were in check. She could also see that she could somehow scare them into ending their childish acts.

Wow.. that's amazing!

Once Natsu and Gray fell silent, the calming smile of the redhead returned to the surface. "Well, that's great that you're all doing somewhat good."

"Say, Lu," it was the voice of the blue haired girl. "Are you okay? You seemed off earlier."

What came from her mouth caused her blood to pump at a fast rate. She had to quickly come up with an excuse as she felt as if she had no choice.

After a few seconds, something slipped from her mouth. "I was just up late last night. I had trouble getting to sleep."

Levy blinked for a moment. "Oh, is that it?"

"Yeah, that's it."

"Well, if you say so. I just wanted to make sure you were doing fine," Levy's gaze was soft and friendly. Lucy couldn't help but thank her for her support.

"Thanks, Levy. I appreciate it."

"No problem, Lu. That's what friends do."

Classes were going to start up again in a matter of time. The blonde had something she wanted to do first. She wanted to head to the bathroom.

"Uh, hey guys. I'm going to go to the bathroom real quick," she'd let her friends know before she'd go on ahead.

"Alright, Lucy," said Erza. "Just don't be too long in there. Class is about to begin and I don't want you being late."

Lucy gave the scarlet a reassuring grin. "Don't worry. I won't."

As soon as those words were said, she was off.

The bathroom door creaked open. Lucy stepped through as it shut behind her. She faced a mirror. At this moment, she had been wearing a mask, trying to pretend she was okay. Deep down however, this was false.

She wasn't okay. She was so sick and tired of dealing with her dad's bullshit. It was unbearable. It was painful. She just wanted to get away.

She hated feeling so helpless. She was lost, having no idea what to do. The heartfilia girl was going to marry someone that her father had arranged for her when she was eighteen.

Just then, she felt something wet trickle down her cheeks. They were tears. She could feel herself beginning to crack, but was fighting to keep her composure. She needed to make it through the day.

She wiped away the drops in frustration. No! Don't cry, Lucy! You need to stay strong! You can do this!

She couldn't help but question herself..

What would happen next..?
