Lafayette x reader

are you sure?

I woke up in the middle of the night, it had been almost a month since me and Lafayette got married and recently i've been showing signs of pregnancy, mostly just sickness in the morning, which, could just mean im getting sick, but i doubt it, i haven't spoken to anyone about it  yet so I'll probably ask Eliza about pregnancy stuff, since she's gone threw it quite a bit maybe thatd help me figure out if I really am pregnant or just getting sick, i tried to snuggle into lafayette but i just couldnt, i felt too sick, i got up and rushed to the bathroom, then after throwing up and taking care of myself, i walked to the kitchen and got a glass of water to start rinsing my mouth out, i managed to do this in the dark without much moonlight to help and not break anything surprisingly, but soon when i was done rinsing my mouth i saw a faint light grow closer, it was lafayette with a lit candle 

"mon cher?..what are you doing out of bed? its late" though it was dark i could tell lafayette was sleepy and concerned 

"i know..im sorry, i was getting some water" i simply skipped over the part where i threw up and that i might be pregnant

"are you sure? its seems like you've been gone awhile, the spot you normally lay in was cold.." lafayette sighed softly as he got closer, setting the candle on the counter 

"im sure" i smiled softly and rested my head on lafayettes chest, he wrapped his arms around  me and gently placed a kiss on my head 

"alright..are you ready to come back to bed?" lafayette questioned

"in a minute" i kissed his cheek then stepped away from his embrace "i'll join you soon" 

"i can wait for you" lafayette smiled 

"no, i dont want to keep you from sleeping, you need rest" i gently pushed lafayette away,  he sighed and went back to our room, leaving me the candle, i sighed and stood near the sink, i still felt pretty sick but i grabbed the candle and walked to our room, when morning came i got ready and left to go to the hamilton/schuyler estate, not too early of course it was almost noon when i got there, i chatted with eliza, just some small talk and catching up  before i began the topic i wanted to discuss

"uhm, eliza..i..think i may be pregnant, i wanted to ask you about some things before i really accept it" i told eliza, who seemed to beam as she listened to me, then started to talk all about the  different things that happened during her early stages of pregnancy, which only made me understand i was defiantly pregnant, but i still enjoyed the chat with eliza which soon ended as the kids ran around the house, i helped her a bit before leaving, i sigh as i now realize i have to tell lafayette im pregnant, we havent even talked about having kids, so, this was probably not going to end well, i walked home, luckily lafayette was there, i walked over to him, taking his hand in mine 

"hello mon ange, is everything alright?" lafayette questioned

"laf...i have a question to ask you" i look up at him

"hm? what is it?" laf tilted his head to the side

"..do you want kids?" i asked with a slight blush

lafayette smiled "with you, oui" he placed a soft kiss on my hand 

i let out a sigh of relief "well..i have news for you.." 

lafayettes smile faded "...wait..are you?..."  

i nod "yes, i am" 

lafayette gently pulled me into a soft kiss, pulling away slowly and looked down at my stomach, smiling softly, he looked so happy, i was glad he was, i would have to tell everyone soon, maybe tonight, maybe tomorrow, i do have lunch with breakfast with thomas tomorrow morning, maybe i can tell alexander tonight, tell thomas tomorrow morning, then tell the others that afternoon, that was the plan, hopefully thats what would happen, that night i went over to alexanders, knocking on the door only to be greeted by peggy, which startled me because she pulled me into a hug without warning

"hi!" peggy smiled as she pulled away from the hug and pulled me inside "what brings you here so late?" 

"well, i wanted to talk to alex, but i also have something to talk to you about" i smiled at peggy

"oh?" peggy tilted her head "what is-"she cut herself off "oh! right, hehe, your expecting"

"you know?" i questioned

"eliza told me and angelica " peggy giggled

"of course she did" i sigh "well, i have to go tell alex, so, i'll be off" i said as i walked off to alexanders study, knocking on the door before walking in "alex?" i questioned looking over at him, he was reading letters, one i noticed being from someone by the name of James Reynolds, i didnt pay much attention to it but alex seemed startled when he saw me, putting the letter in a drawer 

"yes?" alex questioned, straightening himself out

"are you alright?" i asked walking over to him

"yes, im fine, did you need something y/n?" 

"well, i need to talk to you.." i let out a sigh

alex raised a brow "what happened? did laf do something? he didnt hurt you did he?" he questioned

i shook my head "no! of course not! " i rolled my eyes a little 

"..then what is it?" alex crossed his arms

"..im pregnant" 

"YOUR WHAT?" alex looked me up and down, taking a deep breath "..y-your really pregnant?...your sure?" 

"..yes, why would i not be?" i bit my lip "is something wrong?" 

"i..no, i just, wasnt expecting that, thats all" he smiled softly

we chatted for a little then i left, going back home, the next morning i got ready for my breakfast with thomas, after getting ready i went to thomas' estate, after knocking on the door, sally let me in and soon thomas walked down the stairs, magenta suit and all, i smiled at him 

"mornin doll" thomas winked at me with a small smile

i rolled my eyes "good morning thomas" i waited until about half way through our breakfast to tell him "hey, thomas" i cleared my throat

"yes hon?" thomas raised a brow

"im pregnant" i looked at him, smiling softly

thomas took a moment, seeming like a loading screen just appeared on his face, before responding " oh? thats wonderful, im sure lafayette is very happy" he smiled softly, though it seemed a little forced

"he is, we're both happy to start our family " i decided to ignore that his smile seemed forced 

"he's always seemed like the family type" thomas nodded as he finished eating, i soon finished eating as well, we changed topics and i soon left, going back to my and lafayettes home
