Song: Lemon Boy by Cavetown

Enjoy! :)

It all started a month ago.

I was tending to the garden, which I had inherited from my parents. After Dad had passed on, it was in his will that I would inherit his garden, which he had cared for for almost ten years. Mom had always reminded me that it was a great opportunity and a huge responsibility, and was ecstatic about it. Unfortunately, I was not as delighted with the idea of taking over such a big job. I already have the job of reviving KID temporarily to destroy Pandora, but now I have this job as another burden on my shoulders. Plus, this isn't just any garden, this was a huge greenhouse, full with all sorts of plants. It was tough, doing it all alone. Anyway, back to the flashback:

I was tending to the garden as usual, not really having much emotions. I was watering the roses, all of a sudden, I heard a faint tearing sound. My ears perked up. 'Someone's......crying?' I looked around, wondering who it could be. I live alone, and I don't usually have visitors nowadays. I put down the watering can gingerly, and paced around the house, grabbing a nearby broom, just in case it was an intruder. I cautiously examined each room, listening closely to the soft cries. Soon, I was by the front door, putting my ear against it. 'It's much louder here, he or she should be just outside the door.' I gently turned the doorknob and opened the door, out of curiosity to see who it was. The sight before me made my eyes widen in shock. It was a girl, about the same age as me, seating against the wall beside the door, burying her face into her arms, and shaking a little. She had shiny h/l h/c hair, and she was wearing a f/c f/o. She must have heard the door open, because she tilted her head to face me, her eyes filled with tears. Our eyes met, and looking at her face which was filled with despair, I couldn't help but feel sympathetic for this girl, whose name I did not even know. Before I could even mutter a word, she immediately stood up, and apologized," I'm sorry, I'll leave now, I'm sorry if I caused you any trouble of any kind." And went away, and never looked back. "Hey, wait!" I tried to shout for her to wait, but by then she was already gone. I sighed, ruffling my hair. 'Dang.. I lost her. Maybe she'll come by again next time.' I convinced myself, closing the door back shut. Walking back to the garden, I couldn't help but think about the mysterious girl I met earlier. She did not even wait for me to respond, and just ran away, as if afraid of me. I titled my head up, gazing at the humongous garden that stood before me, taunting and hinting me to pick up where I left off. "My gosh, just focus on the garden for once." I buried my face in my hands, massaging my sore temples, muttering to myself.

Little did I know that that girl was secretly looking the greenhouse from afar, eyes shone like lovely e/c jewels, filled with bittersweet emotions.

The next few days were pretty much the same, with that girl appearing outside my door every morning, and everytime she does so, I could always hear her sad cries. And even if she wasn't crying, she could be heard sniffling. Despite seeing her almost ever morning, I could never get the chance to meet her properly. She would always be on her heels whenever she heard me open the door, and boy did she run fast. Forget about even having the chance to know her better, I didn't even know her name. Not until one day.

Once again, while I was tending to the garden, I heard her sniffling from inside the greenhouse. I put down the fertilizer, and as quiet as possible, I paced down the hallway to the door. I drew in a breath of air, and gingerly opened the door, swiftly yet silently. Fortunately, this time she did not move an inch, signaling me that she had not take notice of me yet. I slowly approached her, and sat down beside her. She must have heard, because she suddenly jerked, and turned to look at me. Seeing that I did not chase her away, but instead sat down beside her, she stayed. She turned back to the front, the wind softly blowing her smooth h/c hair. "I hope you can stay for a while, I was hoping to ask you a few questions....is that okay with you?" I asked, voice barely above a whisper. She nodded slightly, resting her head on her legs, folded up. "Why, do you usually come here these few weeks? Is there something about my house that you want to see or something?" She turned her head towards me, face emotionless, as if expecting me to ask that question.
