Chapter 13

I was about to meet Randall and Hamish at the chalice, I stopped at the door once I heard Angus' voice.
He said" For acolytes, who just met, you guys are pretty tight."
Hamish said" Well, it does feel like we've known each other for a while."
Randall said" You can't fight your feelings."
" Yes, you can, but what's the point?"
" Kiss me." I put my phone to my ear, So I could laugh," Let's get out of here."
" Mm."
" Excuse me!" Then they came out of the chalice, I smiled at them,
I said" Cute couple." Randall grabbed my arm as he walked by me, and dragged me." Hamish, I'd kiss Lilith or Jack, way before I'd kiss you. You're like 300 years old."
Hamish said" I'm not old." Randall wrapped an arm around my shoulder, smiling widely.

I was sitting between Randall and Jack on the couch,
Randall said" She's not wrong. It could use a little work."
Jack said" Hey, my cupie is tight."
Lilith said" If I wanted to act this much, I would have majored in theater."
" I've scheduled fake texts every 15 minutes, so I always have an excuse to get away from Gabrielle."
Hamish said" Smart. Randall and I had to kiss each other to get away from our monitors."
Randall said" Yeah. Had to. We had to."
Lilith said" What I hate is how everything's a lie, even if it doesn't feel that way."
" Well, at least you're lying to each other."
" Doesn't make it any easier."
Hamish said" Sometimes I wish I'd never gotten my memory back."
Jack said" Sure would be a lot more peaceful."
Randall said" Guys, you don't mean that. We'd be total strangers."
Lilith said" I feel like a stranger to myself. I have to live in a fake apartment with fake friends."
Jack said" At least you have your own stuff, and your own place. I mean, Gabrielle treats me like her own private Ken doll."
Hamish said" She must have really hated her Ken dolls."
Lilith said" Crash here."
" No. We agreed. This place is only for debriefs, and the occasional cocktail."
Randall said" That's it." He stood up, I looked at him," We have to destroy them. Let's go, right now." He went to walk away, Hamish grabbed him.
" That's a great fantasy but we're a month into classes and we have yet to come up with a decent plan."
I said" Even if we did, they still have all our stuff. Our hide lockers, Midnight."
Jack said" No, they don't have all of our stuff. They stole it. So let's steal it back. No, no, look, all of our stuff is in their vault. So if we take it back and we steal all of their stuff, doesn't matter if anyone knows we have our memories back or not, 'cause we would have ripped the heart out of the Order and left them spurting arterial blood all over the wall."
Randall said" Are you suggesting a magic heist?"
" Yes. Magic heist." I stood up,
We all cheered" Magic heist! Magic heist! Magic heist!" We started moving around.

Jack said" There's only one entrance to the vault, and it's in the reliquary. It's a secret door behind one of the bookcases, so access is no problem. And the corridor itself is a cakewalk. No booby traps, no secret handshakes. The door doesn't even have a lock. It's shocking how easy this is going to be. Only challenging part will be moving everything out and stashing it."
Hamish said" May be able to help with that.

Hamish had a place, outside of school, whoa.
Jack said" This is unbelievable. You own this but you were still living at the den?"
Hamish said" Well, I find wolfing out in downtown Norwich basically impossible. Is this gonna hold the contents of the vault?"
" Yes, this'll hold everything."
Randall said" We're doing a magic heist!" He jumped onto the couch, I laughed,
Lilith said" You do realize we have one small problem."
Jack said" And that is?"
" None of us can access the reliquary."
" Shit. Lilith's right. We're gonna need a Magistratus."
" Or, at least their access sigil."

Lilith said" Are you sure this is Gonna work?"
Hamish said" What happens if this doesn't work?"
Randall and I said" This better work."
Jack said" It's gonna work, guys." He raised his hand and the door opened, we all looked at each other then walked in.

We walked behind the bookcase, and into this creepy hallway.
Hamish said" Hm, Milton." We were looking at writing on the archway, All Hope Abandon Ye Who Enters Here.
Randal said" Mm, Goethe." Jack said something in latin,
He said" Dante."
Lilith said" Smell you."
" Big sign over Pop's bathroom, and truer words were never spoken."
" This is too easy. It's like Vera wants to be robbed."
Randall said" Candy from a baby."
Jack said" Don't jinx it."
I said" Lilith jinxed it already." We walked in and everything disappeared, I whimpered," Guys! Randall!" I looked at the forest I was in, I breathed heavily, circling the spot looking around." Rand?!" I walked, looking around more, then I tripped, I hit the ground. I pulled myself up as I saw blood on my hands, I saw Randall's body, I screamed...
