Chapter 16

I heard someone coming in, I jumped off the bean bag and hid behind the bar, baring my fangs. I pounced out as the person walked by, I pinned them to the ground.
Carter said" It's just me." I sighed then pouted at him, he smiled," Yeah, I knew you'd be here. I was gonna surprise you."
I said" You can't sneak up on a werewolf, idiot."
" Yeah, I'm realizing that now." I got up, he got up, smiling at me,
" Uh... so, you're not gonna-"
" Tell? No. If you let me take you on a date."
" You do know my brother and my best friends are werewolves, who are very protective of me."
" Yeah, I know." I smiled and kissed his lips, he held my waist and deepened the kiss." I don't know how I resisted the urge to kiss you all summer."
" Probably because you knew I would slap you."
" Oh, definitely." He laughed, I smiled and blushed, looking away from him. He smirked," So, where's your body guards?"
" Uh, Jack is somewhere, Randall and Hamish went to get food."
" So, we're all alone?"
" Yeah, for a little. Then you so have to go because I'm not hearing them whine."
" Okay, I'm fine with that." He backed me into the wall, as we started making out, my arms wrapped around his shoulders.

We were staking out Foley's house, he was the one who stole our stuff from the people who stole from us. We were in Gabrielle's car... and it's definitely not a good car to stake out on.
Randall said" This is the worst stakeout car ever."
Hamish said" We might as well be driving a spaceship."
Gabrielle said" Probably because I didn't choose it for stakeouts."
" No, you chose it because it's the most expensive."
" So?"
" He's not coming back."
" He's coming back."
Randall said" Guys, I ransacked the place. There's nothing else there. There's no Order stuff, no Knights stuff."
Hamish said" We'll find the... stuff."
I whispered " We better find the... stuff."
Gabrielle said" What are you three morons looking for?"
We three said" Nothing."
" Fine. I don't care anyway."
Randall and I said" You totally care."
Hamish said" You care so hard."
Randall and Gabrielle said" So fucking hard." Slightly Quoting Silence of the Lambs.
Randall said" Whoa. Silence of the Lambs?"
Gabrielle said" It's why I got into psychology."
" That's... kind of cool."
Hamish said" That's... not the quote."
Gabrielle said" Uh, what do you know?"
Randall said" Yeah, that's, word for word, the quote."
" Yeah, I've seen the film literally a million times."
" Yeah, it's my favorite scene. So fucking hard."
" That's pretty good."
Hamish said" So, what makes you think he's coming back?"
" Please, he's an adult male. There's something in there he can't live without. It's like you two with your precious stuff."
Randall said" You did not just profile us."
" I totally did, and I'm totally right." I heard a car approaching,
I said" Heads up." We saw a car pull up,
Randall said" Blitz attack?"
Hamish said" Blitz attack. Let's go." We went to get out,
Gabrielle said" Uh-uh. Vera wants him alive, remember?" I dropped my head, Gabrielle gave Randall the sack.

Randall went inside,
I said" Why are we sending Randall in with no prior information... it's sloppy." My head tilted," And we gotta go now." I jumped out of the car with Hamish on my heels.
We ran inside, and saw Randall against the wall, we ran to him.
He groaned" Woof. I'm fine." He got up," For a tourist, the guy knows some powerful magic."
Gabrielle whispered" Shh, quiet. He's still here."
Hamish said" Fan out. Search the house."
Randall said" Someone has to take the basement. Not it." We three raised our hands,
I said" Not it."
Hamish said" Not it."
Gabrielle said" There's no way that counts."
" Mm, totally counts." We walked away from her. We started searching around,
Hamish said" Guys, watch out for sigils on the ceiling."
Randall said" Oh, come on. Apareat... sombulus magicus? Hmm. I guess magic's not a complete waste of time." I walked ahead, then got trapped, I groaned, and looked down, seeing a sigil.
Randall and I said" And the floor!" I looked at him, then we were released, I sighed,
Gabrielle said" He's down here! A little help?"
We ran downstairs, we saw the professor knocked out.
Hamish said" Not bad, for an acolyte."
" Are you kidding? I was fucking amazing."
Randall said" Maybe you learn to take a compliment."
" Whatever, mom. I'm trying to watch The Voice."
Hamish said" What was that?" Then she fell, Randall caught her,
Randall said" Whoa, okay. Yeah, she hit her head pretty bad. Get Foley to Vera. I'll take care of her."
" Let's go, professor of the year." Hamish grabbed his feet, and dragged him out, I followed behind him.

We got to where Vera was, getting out, we opened the back.
Hamish said" Ladies and Gentlemen, may I present Cameron Foley, mediocre ethics professor, and the man who stole your magic." Hamish pulled the gag down,
Foley said" You see, that right there is your problem. Me, mine, ours... magic isn't something to be possessed, not anymore. You're too late. We've already won."
" Should I put the gag back on?"
" And I won Professor of the Year in '09."
I said" That was at a community college."
" Wow."
Vera said" I know what he knows, where he's hidden our artifacts."
The man said" How will you know we're telling you the truth?"
" I'll know."
Foley said" It is a shame that it has come to this. Now, you remember, whatever happens next is on you. Now, you still have time to make this right. You let me go, and I will spare your lives. Hm?" They dragged him away,
The man said" We do have a common enemy."
Vera said" Mm. Apology accepted."
" I didn't-"
" Now let my disciple go." He walked away,
Hamish said" Where is Jack?"

We told Jack about what he missed,
Jack said" Gabrielle helped you?"
Hamish said" Not just helped, saved the day."
" Gabrielle Dupres?"
I said" I know, right?" Then the four in front stopped,
Alyssa said" We have to help them." Alyssa and Jack ran, I followed Jack, Hamish behind me.
We got to a place and everyone was dead, hearts ripped out.
Jack said" Holy shit." Hamish and I walked to Jack," Foley."
I said" Midnight."
