Sunshine [Ray x OC][Indefinite Hiatus]

Chapter 32

Third Person POV

[January 16, 2046, Underground Tunnel]

Early morning, Ray and Emma asked questions about the world. They were shocked by their discovery but nonetheless, were happy since they know that they have a world to go when they escaped their current world. Emma noticed that ever since they woke up, Ray's trying to conceal his emotions by smiling at the kids and distancing himself to others.

"Do you think he'll be okay?" Anna asked as she went to Emma. Emma looked at her momentarily before looking at Ray, his hands in his pockets. She knows that Sunshine's picture is in there.

"So, a 'Promise' between a human and a demon. . ." Don trailed off, wanting to get the others to focus on the topic at hand. 

"A promise was mentioned in Mr. Minerva's Morse Code." Gilda said. 

"So that was what he was talking about?" Don asked.

"Probably." Emma said then sighed deeply. "If Sunshine is here, she'll tell us the answer." 

"But what does it mean that that this is 'Earth but not the human's world'?" Nat asked.

". . . and that the 'world was split'?" Anna continued. Emma looked at them thoughtfully. 

"I thought that. . . something happened 30 years ago that made the world this way. But for a thousand years, this region. . . hasn't and the human countries, societies, or cities." Emma said.

"The 'Promise' from a thousand years ago split the world into two." Gilda said. Emma looked at her.

"According to Sunshine and Sonju, 'the path is closed, the door is closed, we can't go where we used to be able to go'." Emma said as she referred to the letter from Sunshine.

"If that's true, we're on the demon's side of the world that was cut off. So what we read in books and thought of as the 'world'. . . wasn't here, but in a different place." Don stated. The five of them looked at each other with knowing gaze.

"That's what were aiming for in the end. . . is to get out of this world." Emma said seriously. 

"And Sunshine and Mr. Minerva knows how to do that." Anna said. 

"Exactly. Sunshine's not with us physically but she's ere in out hearts and I know that she'll guide us. We'll go see Mr. Minerva and ask him how to cross between the two worlds. And we'll prepare and get everything ready within two years. . . to do that, we're heading to B 06-32."

"So, there's a world without demons, eh?" Don smirked.

"An unexpected hope." Anna smiled. 

"But, will that be easy?" Nat looked around uneasy. Gilda placed her hand on top of her mouth to think.

"True. . ." Gilda said. "Besides, you were told it's impossible, right? To go back and forth. That it was the part of the 'Promise'?" Gilda continued. "We're a large group. An even if Mr. Minerva knows something, it can't co smoothly."

"I never assumed it was going to be easy. I'm pretty sure Sunshine knows it, too. Traversing the two worlds is one thing, But first we need to survive this demon world. That hasn't changed even if Sunshine's not with us physically. We escaped not knowing what steps to take next. But now we see a path.

"I won't let anyone die. I want Sunshine and Norman to be last. I don't care how difficult it will be." Emma looked at the other with determination as she closed her fist and smiled at them. "Let's go. To the world without demons. For that, we're going to B 06-32. To where Minerva is."
