Part 3: Strengthening Bonds

Gon made his way to the cafeteria to buy lunch. He hoped cafeteria food was good, he never had it before since his middle and elementary school made the students bring lunch. Gon was thankful that his aunt Mito was such a good cook and that she enjoyed making food for her nephew. As soon as he got there he saw kurapika and Leorio. "Hey" he said walking up to the pair of boys seated at a round table that fit four. They were already eating lunch they had brought from home, it had taken some time for Gon to get to the cafeteria since he forgot the money aunt mito gave him in this locker. The three exchanged a couple sentences explaining how their second period classes were. When they finished their conversation Gon took the money he had stored in his pocket and said he would be back shortly.

The line had grown a bit since Gon had entered the cafeteria. Gon needed a break from talking to people so he didn't mind standing in line for a bit. 'I got so used to not talking to people this summer since my friends were all studying.' The line moved quicker then Gon anticipated. He picked up a pre-made tuna sandwich, a chocolate milk carton, and a granola bar. When he got to the cash he realized he knew the person standing there. "Oh hey killua" Gon began speaking.

Killua: "oh hi... so is this all?" Looking down at what Gon was holding

Gon: "oh.. uh yeah this is all" he handed his stuff to killua to be scanned

Killua: "ok, it comes to $5.10" holding out his hand to collect the change

This time Gon knew better to shake his hand but when thinking bad on today's earlier events a slight grin crept on to his face.

Gon: "haha sorry about making you fall earlier in class" he said while rubbing the back of his neck "so do you to work here all lunch?"

Killua: "it's ok it was partially my fault, and no I only have to work for the first half of lunch" he said handing gon his change and a receipt.

Gon: "oh well if you want I-" the boy's sentence was cut short from a stranger saying something.

Random student: "that's enough you two I can't wait all day!"

Killua: "Ok well bye Gon... AY SHUT UP!!" Killua waved goodbye to Gon and tuned to yell a bit at the impacting male student.

Gon: "bye" he said quietly but killua was already gone.

Gon began to walk back to the table his new friends were sitting at, he had a smile plastered on his face. He plopped back down in his chair and opened his sandwich to take a bite. 'I think that went pretty well.' "Ooohh chocolate milk! Mind if I have a sip" Leorio said while reaching for Gon's chocolate milk carton. Gon was too wrapped up in thought to respond so he let Leorio have some. Kurapika was curios as to why Gon seemed so happy, "so why are you smiling and not paying attention to anything, I'm pretty sure you just but some wrapper Gon." Kurapika and Leorio giggled a bit. "Oh uh, I think I made another new friend and he seems really cool." Said gon. "That's good to hear, especially if you don't notice when I take some chocolate milk" Leorio said followed with a chuckle. "You better not have taken too much" Said gon and then he picked up the carton and discovered it was empty "LEORIOOOO!!" the three boys bursted into laughter.

Gon was slightly disappointed when he had gotten back to his seat to discover he couldn't see the cafeteria lunch stand from where he sat. It was around 45 mins into their hour lunch when Gon wanted to get up and stretch his legs, maybe also use the bathroom. "Hey I'm going to run to the bathroom can you guys watch my stuff?" Kurapika and Leorio nodded. Gon wasn't quite sure he knew where the bathroom was but he did know there was one on every floor. He figured he would wonder around until he found it. He came across the art room first.

Gon was never really into art but him and his friends used to eat in their middle schools art room. A couple of his old friends were talented at painting, not just math and English. It brought back good memories to see the art room so he decided he would take a peek inside. That when he saw the white haired boy. Gon stood at the door peering thought the small window on the door. The lights were off but the sun from the window was shinning on the entire room. Gon couldn't help but admire him. Killua was wearing a soft baby blue crew neck sweater with a white collared shirt underneath. He had black ripped skinny jeans on and a couple necklaces. His hair was shining in the sunlight. It look like a beautiful bright white light. Then suddenly killua's head turned around to look at the door. Gon's knees quickly buckled, hopefully not being seen. He scurried around the closest corner. He stood up and leaned against a wall but he soon realized it was a door. He fell inside the room and instantly smelt something just horrible. He had found himself sitting on the bathroom floor. This was actually perfect for his situation, he could hide out in here for a bit.
