Chapter 7: Sneaking Into Town

As the ninja looked at the gang they realized they were in the world with trouble. Devon took out a gun and prepared to fire. But Diana noticed what was about to do and stopped him pulling his gun down. "No! you can't just kill her" Diana said. "Why not?" Devon asked. "Because that will cause a grandfather complex. You cannot cause a grandfather complex remember. If you change something in history it will affect the present and the future in a positive or negative way". "But she wants to kill us. What are we supposed to do? Let her?" "She doesn't want to kill us...yet. I think she just wants to have a talk with us". "Well unless you know ancient Japanese by heart there's no way we're going to be able to talk to her". "We don't have to. Here watch!" Diana said as she got something out of the bag. The ninja thought that they where enemy's. So she said in ancient Japanese "tell me who you are now". It was a unique future collar. Devon looked at the collar and asked "What is that?". "It's a Universal Translating Collar. If we put this on her neck it will read the vibrations in her vocal cords. So whenever she talks we can choose a language for the collar to translate her words into by voice command." "I will ask you one final time. Who are you and why are you here?" The ninja said loudly. Diana step in slowly and said "miss where not going to hurt you. Let me just put this collar on you and we can talk". Threatened by her actions the ninja attack Diana. Diana throw a punch but the ninja sideway kicked her to the right. As Diana fell she rolled back on her feet. She jumped up and kicked the ninja down. Then the Ninja throw a kunai at her which pierced into her shoulder. She briefly screamed in pain but then quickly got used to it. Then the ninja ran as fast as she could to Diana and used another kunai to stab her with. He blocked it with both of her hands the best she could. Devon realize this was going nowhere. Devon said "OMG! If you want something done right you're going to have to do it yourself. Stand back guys I'm going in" then ran. "Wait! You can't get in the middle of a girl fight. Earth girls are crazy!" Alex said. "Yeah what she said" Brock said . Devon thought that was a wired thing for her to say. "Yeah well I'm crazier" Devon said confused and still running. He got in the middle of the two and then pushed them back with both of his arms. Devon then swiped the collar from Diane's arm then Devon dog piled onto the Ninja forcefully putting the collar on her. The Ninja squirmed as hard as she could saying "get off me! Get off". Devon then slapped her saying "Diana how do I turn this thing on?" "Press the on button! It's on the middle of it". Devon still holding the ninja down looked for it. He found it and then push the button. The collar then spoke to him in English saying. "Hello this is the Universal Translator Collar. Say what language you would like for the words to be translated in". "English please!". It took a few seconds but the word she said finally or translated into English. "Let me go or you will suffer" the ninja said in English. Relief that Devon can understand her he said "shut up and lesson! We don't want to hurt you. We are lost and we're just looking for some directions. I'm going to let you go but you got a promise not to attack me or my-". Devon almost said friends but he didn't want them to think that they're cool. So instead he finished saying "Associates. So do we have a deal?". The Ninja trusted Devon and knotted. So Devon got off of her and she got back on her feet. Devon turned around to check on Diana. "Yo Diana! You alright over there?". "Yeah I'm fine. This isn't the first time I've been stabbed before". Then she pulled out the kunai from her body. "Why? are you worried about me?" she said again in a mocking way. Devon scuffed and said "no just wanted to make sure your not crying like a baby". But if truth be told Devon really was worried about her. But he also wanted to act tough as nails. Devon then turned back to the Ninja and ask questions. "Okay this is kind of awkward but what is your name and what are you?". "My name is Yoshi and I'm a Ninja". "Wow that's a beautiful name. Sorry for being mean but we need to find someone here how needs to pay for his crime's". Yoshi looked at there weapons and suit's and said "you mean a time traveler is trying to change history". Devon and the other's opened there eyes in shock. "How did you-". "I meet one before. He is in a town not that far from here. His name is Eduardo Rodriguez". "Wait! Hold on a second" Dan said then put on his glasses and sherched the national criminal data base for someone of that name. One file came back so Dan opened it and read it. "Eduardo Rodriguez is a Male born in Cuba. He was a trusted Cuban military general for roughly 20 years. He fought to keep Cuban's Communism alive until he got bored going to wars and not getting anything out of it. He didn't just won't to win wars for his country he wanted to expand it to. So one day he tried to take over a state with weak government and succeeded. His victory made him realize this is what he was missing. So he continued to do it for a time unnoticed. Until his government fianlly caught wind of his actions and made him leave his rank and government for good. Outraged he used his general experience and turned it into a life of organized crime. He went underground to convince ex-military personnel to come and fight with him. His job now is to be a corrupt general who takes over small countries with either weak governments or no governments at all and then sells them to the highest bidder. He did this business for about 7 years until he realized he was running low on options. Despite all of his experience he didn't have the weapons, technology or soldiers necessary to take over strong government protected countries. And then one day he just disappeared without a trace." "Wow fired by his own government...that's pretty bad" Devon said. "Yeah it is" Dan agreed. "So was that really what it said or were those your own words?" Elliot asked. "My own words. But that's pretty much all we need to know for now". "I guess we have common enemy do we?" Yoshi asked interestedly. "Yes we do!" Dan said. Yoshi knew that they weren't samurai but they also weren't ninja either. But she saw firsthand the equipment that Eduardo has. And she also realized that she didn't stand a good chance even if she had a whole army of ninjas. She needed someone with the skills and tools to match him. And all seven of them were her best hope. So she said "ok you can help. But I need to know if I can trust all of you". Meanwhile in the Juggernaut Danielle Petrova was sitting on the floor in a cell. The cell had thin plasma screen's as a substitute for bullet proof glass. The cell could hold 8 criminals at a time. The juggernaut itself is a big 6 wheeled vehicle. Its all black with neon green lights all around it. The lights themselves were designed to look like more like racing stripes. The wheel rims are green and the tires are Gray. It resemble's the latest NASA Mars Rover Vehicle but bigger and enough space to have a cell, control panels needed for time travel, and a medical bed. The armor it has was designed to be light but hard to penetrate. She tried to contact the Mastermind. Everything wasn't waterproot except for two things. Her guns which have been confiscated and her ear communicator. Tuning into her radio frequency's she successfully made contact with her and made a call. "Mastermind I was captured! They got me in a police juggernaut. Can you trace this call and get Eduardo to help me?" Danielle asked. "You were caught?! Why should I help you? So you can fail again?" The Mastermind asked. "I failed because of his water bending gloves. He out smarted me with once but he has no water to use. So he won't be able to beat me with them so easily next time. I promise you I'll get done". The Mastermind thought for a little bit if it was worth it. She did promise her a fair chance but she never agreed to a second chance. But she was also offering a lot of money. "Give me one good reason why I should!". "Because if you don't I will tell them your identity". "How dare you? You wouldn't!" Mastermind said as she hacked in to a computer shutting down the plasma cell door. When it was safe to go danielle moved out the cell. Then she went to the juggernaut door and waited for it to open. "Okay this is your chance of redemption. You will work with Rodriguez from now on. If you fail I will order him to shoot you before you can tell them who I am. So listen and do better". "Fine! Just open the door". When the door opened she ran outside, tried to find a hiding stop in the woods and waited for Eduardo to come and get her. As she ran away Yoshi was the first to notice. Saying "you there how are you". The others were confused and looked behind them. Dan realize that was Danielle saying "hay you! stop there!". Diana stop Dan saying "wait let her go! Maybe she'll led us someplace useful around her. Maybe to Eduardo". "not a bad idea baby" Dan said. "But if we don't follow her how are we going to find her?" Devon stated. "I'll go into the trees and spy on her. She will never know I'm there." Dan realized it could be risky. It was bad enough that she knew what was going on. But he also knew that she needed to trust them and this could be a good start. Plus let's face it in a time period like this no one was sneakier than a ninja. "Ok go! Hurry!" Dan said but was no use seeing that she was already ran as he was specking. Using her ninja speed and agility getting in the tree was easy. "I'm going with her!" Devon said starting to run into the woods. "No stay here! Your still with us". "Your not my boss remember". Dan was so irritated trying to deal with him. "Come on guys. We got to make sure he doesn't hurt himself" Dan ordered everyone as he ran to catch up with him. The others follow Dan Into the woods. While still in the trees Yoshi looked down and saw Danielle Petrova standing and waiting. She was waiting for Eduardo to get her still. Yoshi could do nothing but just sit there and wait for something to happen. So she waited for a few minutes. Then you'll see heard someone trying to get around to the trees. She was on her guard she was ready to attack. Then she realized it was Devon. "Relax it's just me. I won't hurt you" Devon said quietly sitting next to her. "I don't need help you know". "I know but i-" Devon stopped talking because he noticed a brown birthmark on top of her right hand. The birthmark looked like the continent of Africa. It interested him because he had the exact same thing on his left leg. Just then he remembered something that his grandma told him. "Sonny! Any time you see someone with that birthmark you see on your leg that means they are a member of our family". "I have that same birthmark on my leg" Devon said as he rolled up his jeans to proof it. She saw it and looked shocked. "We are family?" Yoshi said confused. Down on the ground Dan and the other's got as close to Danielle Petrova as they dared. Everyone listen for anything out of the ordinary and then they heard it. The sound of an automobile from the distance. That's the sound group closer everyone could see what type of automobiles were. 3 Military Praga V3S Truck's came to Danielle. Someone came out of the second truck. It was Eduardo Rodriguez in a Cuban military general uniform on. Eduardo walked up to Danielle and started to talk with her. "So did you kill Devon?" He asked with a serious face. "I think you need both know the answer to that" she said upset. "And you are one of my best? Hm! It appears I might have made a mistake". Eduardo pointed to the car and spock again. "Get in the back of my vehicle. We well get you new and even better gear so next time you will have no excuse". "Yes sir" she said walking and trying to stay come down. "What's going on? What are they doing?" Yoshi asked. "They must be going to the town they set up base at. I'm going to follow them" Devon said then jumped off the tree. He made a soft landing. Dan watching from afar quietly said "no what is we doing? He gonna get caught!". "Hello there!" Devon said getting Danielle and Eduardo's attention. Eduardo was confused and turned around. Danielle eyes lit up as she turned around. "Hello assorted Meatheads...and "Lady". Anyone feel like some exercise?!". "You just couldn't leave me alone could you?" Danielle asked. "Mm...no! You tried to kill me so now I'm trying to kill you" dan said then then proceeded to shoot both of them. "STOP!!!" Dan said from a distance stopping the shooting. Devon Danielle and Eduardo's attention was grasped. Dan then ran to Devon then the others proceeded to follow him. Dan and the others got right beside Devon with a gun pointed at Danielle and Eduardo. "You can't just go around people in the past. How many times do I have to remind you about the grandfather complex". "He's not from this time period. What could he possibly change?". "Well there are other paradoxes as well...you know what just don't it! Brock hold Devon". "Yes sir" brock said and obeyed wrapping his arms around him. "Well well well! If it isn't the master of time travel. I've been dying to beat...uh meet you". "Order Tom Sawyer here to let me go and I'll gladly beat you up. I fought people far worse than you". "Oh a fighting spirit I love it!" Eduardo said enthusiastically. "Only I'm afraid you're mistaken...You've never fought anyone like me! You see I am a general. I am a strategist supreme". "Even 4 star general's can make mistake's sometimes". "Sir do you need our assistance?" said the other mercenaries in the background ready to fire. Eduardo turn to them and said "Hold your Fire! I want to kill them but not like this!". Dan was confused and said "you don't want to kill us this way? What do you mean?". Eduardo turned back to them and said "if I want to kill anyone I want you to have a fair chance. Or a chance at the very least. And from what it looks like here...you don't have a chance". Devon got really mad and started to squirm trying to get out of Brock's arms. "Just let me get this guy! I can take him!". Rodriguez laughed and said "you couldn't beat my legless Chihuahua. Look the Mastermind wants you dead but I'm letting you go for now. I want to kill you and your friends...but I also want the fight to be far. Just as my people would want it. Now if you will excuse me I have to go and take over all of Japan and all of Asia" he said then ran back in to his vehicle. The three vehicles drove off along with him, his man and Danielle Petrova. Devon was really upset that he didn't get a chance to stop him. Dan was also upset at Devon for almost taking part in a suicide mission. Dan walked over, looked at Devon and loudly said "what is wrong with you? You could have gotten yourself killed! Why couldn't you just done what you were told?". Devon, still wrapped around the arms of Brock, kicked Dan in the balls. Dan got down on his knees as Devon just as loudly said "I said it before and I'll say it again you are not my boss! I am not a time traveling police officer! My life is in danger and I'm not just going to sit down and let someone take it nor should I!". Diana worried for her babe got down on her knees and checked on them. "Babe are you okay?" She asked. "Yeah I'm fine" He said trying to tough it out. Dan got right back up I said in a normal tone "You didn't think did you? You didn't come up with a plan". "Well sometimes you might not have time to make a plan. Sometimes you have to do what you think is right at the time". Dan didn't let it show but he thought that was a very compelling point. "Okay here's what I'm going to do. I'm going to let this little matter drop but you need to follow my lead. I will make sure you're safe but you need to let me be in charge". Devon realized he still didn't had no choice and agreed. "Fine but only if three conditions are meant. Number one you have to protect me at all costs. Number two you have to give me the tools and weapons necessary so I can defend my own self. Number three, and this is the most important rule, after we discovered who this Mastermind is and I am safe for good I want to go back to my time period and never...ever...see any...of you...agian. Deal?". Dan nodded realizing if he didn't he would open up a another can of worms if he didn't. "Okay so are we going to stop this guy or not?" Diana asked. "Yes love we are but first we need to spy on him". "Guys! Where is Yoshi?" Brock asked looking around in a worried tone. Everyone looked up and down to see if they could find her. Dan found her running off into the distance. Dan thought about what she was doing then it hit him. She was following Eduardo Rodriguez into the town. Dan ran to try and keep up with her And everyone else followed him. After a few minutes of running she stopped and looked the village we're Eduardo Rodriguez set up shop. The gang took one good look and thought it was beautiful. "Follow me!" Yoshi said sliding down a hill toward the village. Dan tried to stop her but he wasn't quick enough. So he continued to follow her as did the gang.
