"I love you, Nemi."

She grabbed the blade of his sword and pulled, making it sink on her chest and drawing first blood.

Red bloomed on her kimono.

"What the fuck are you doing?!"

'Dying.' She wanted to say.

"Your blood is like alcohol to demons. I'm doing you a favor by ending this."

His eyes widened. "Is that... is that the only thing you're going to say? What the fuck is wrong with you?!" He yelled loudly that the house must've shook.

"I'm sorry, Nemi." Ruri said, pulling his blade harder and making it sink deeper on her chest. Blood poured out from the wound. It was almost painless being put to rest after so much agony.

"I really did my best." Ruri said." I.. I tried waiting, looking for a cure so I could see you again. I never wanted you to see me become this ugly monster. "Her lips curled upwards.

"I wanted you to remember me as Riri. Human. And... a former demon slayer who fought alongside you." Tears rolled down her cheeks. "Not this..not an ugly demon whom you hate. It's why I've been trying to die. So that... I won't be able to hurt anyone else."

She lowered her head as he resisted, pulling the sword away but she grabbed both blades with her hands.

"I'm sorry. You have to see me die." She sobbed. "I didn't want you to see me like this. But I have to die to keep other people safe. Even now.. I could smell your blood. It's sweet and making my head spin like crazy."

Her lips trembled.

"So p-please.. Kill me. Put me to rest. Do your job as a demon slayer because I can't hold on much longer." Ruri finally met his gaze.

"I don't want to hurt people." She begged. "I don't want to hurt my only family."

"NO!" He shook his head and in one strong pull, he pulled the blade away from her.

Ruri fell to her knees, the wound was already healing.

She bit her lip, drawing blood.

"Why?" She whispered.

"WHAT is WRONG with you, Nemi?!" She shouted. "Just kill me! It's what you're supposed to do to save other people from being hurt by demons like me! I'm a monster! I'll end up killing everyone if this continues so why are you being stupid?!"

"Are you fucking kidding me?" Sanemi seethed. "YOU'RE THE STUPID ONE! Dying and asking me to kill you?! You said you were looking for a cure? Don't be an idiot and continue looking! The Riri I know would never give up!"

"It's not that easy! I crave human flesh! "

"You're not weak! Do something about it! That demon girl who was brought to headquarters was able to resist my blood! You're not even salivating like her! Get over it!"

Ruri exhaled. "It's not that easy, you idiot!" She shrieked. "I'm trying my best to control my urges! I don't have a muzzle like Nezuko so it would be easy for me to sink my teeth on your flesh!"

"Then control your urges, woman! You're not allowed to die!"

"You fucking--" Did he think it was that easy? Ruri looked upwards, trying to calm her anger. Does he even know how tasty he looks right now?

"You still have a lot of explaining to do! Do you think I'm going to let you escape that easily?! You're only allowed to die when I say so! "

Ruri's face turned red. "Oh my god! You asshole!"

She headed towards the window but a weight dropped on her back, making her lay flat on her stomach.

Her hair was yanked downwards so she could lift her head to see him staring menacingly down at her.

"You think you could escape this? I've been waiting and I've prepared chains for you!"  What the fuck?!

Ruri paled and her mouth parted as he grabbed her down and wrapped the chains around her.

"You idiot! Are you crazy?! You're violating the code of the Demon Slayer Corps! Oyakata-sama is going to be disappointed that yo-"

"Shut the fuck up, woman! Oyakata-sama already gave his approval because you're a stubborn bitch who doesn't know how to listen to other people!"

"Arghh! I hate you!! "She screamed, losing all sense of reason and slumping down. Her cheeks were red and she was sluggish from the aroma that Sanemi's blood was producing.

"You think I care? You're going to have to answer to me and Oyakata-sama for running away like a coward!"

Ruri closed her eyes." I'm a demon."

"...."

He didn't answer. There was no need to repeat the truth over and over again but she wanted to scare him, make him stop from committing a mistake.

"I became a demon slayer to protect my family. "Sanemi said through gritted teeth. "But you idiotic woman and that stupid brother of mine, joined the organization. You're both idiots!" He yelled angrily.

"I was supposed to protect both of you but you fucking idiots went and got yourselves in danger! Genya ate demons and you became one! That just means that I'm too weak to protect both of you and my strength wasn't enough!"

"Nemi.. you aren't weak. "Ruri whispered.

"Then why did this happen?! Why the fuck did you get hurt and why the fuck are you a demon?! Why the hell is Genya in the demon slayer corps?!" He screamed.

"It wasn't because you were weak. It was my decision and the same can be said for Genya. He chose to be a demon slayer to earn your forgiveness while I did it to be with you."

"It's because of me."

Ruri frantically shook his head. "It's not! That was our decision!"

But Sanemi wasn't listening.

"It's my fucking fault, huh?" He concluded. "I really am like my father."

He clenched his fists.
