174. The Ellen Show

"We're back with the very, very, very, very handsome Harry Styles" Ellen said looking at the camera while the crowd cheered.

"Oh get outta here" Harry joked waving his hand

"It's true"

"So, you just released your second solo album Fine Line"
"Yep" The audience cheered and Harry waved and thanked them.

"Now, people are saying, word on the street is that this album is all about a break up with someone" Ellen stated while holding Fine Line album.

"Okay" Harry responden causing everyone to laugh.

"So the question is... is it?"
"Uhm.. I mean I think like.. I definitely write from personal experience I think a lot of people do. I think if you want your songs to be honest and connect to people is usually from writing honestly.. so yeah it's definitely about kinda I guess.. what I was going through at the time and that's both good and bad, I think the thing with this album for me was while I was making it there were times were I was really sad but also the happiest so it's both... it's a fine line"
"That's the name of the album Fine Line"

Everyone laughed

"No but really I just love all of your music, is so unique and amazing"
"Thank you"
"And congratulations I heard it hit #1 as soon as it was released"
"It did thank you, it's surreal but exciting"
"So what you did to celebrate?"
"Nothing extravagant actually, I was with my kids when my manager called me so we just had kinda like a celebration dinner that I ended up cooking" Harry laughed
"Seriously?"
"Yeah, we were just playing around and then my manager called me so afterwards Alanna asked what happened, so when I told her she said 'daddy we should have dinner for you' so I asked her where did she wanted to go but she said she wanted me to cook her favorite dish, so I ended up cooking my celebration dinner" Ellen and the crowd started laughing.
"So talking about your kids remind me  again, how old are they?"
"Oh, Alanna just turned three and Harley's one year"
"Wow"
"I know, it's true what people say of them growing up so fast, it just feels like yesterday Alanna was born"
"That's crazy"
"It is"
"I mean time does fly away the last time you were here you weren't even a dad and you were still in One Direction, you guys were about to perform at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show"
"Yeah it's been a wild couple of years"
"You tell me. So now, you and Barbara are... not together, right?
"Right"
"But you're co-parenting your kids right?"
"Yes, we are"
"So how does that works exactly? Or how you make it work"
"I think communication is the base, we just listen what the other one has to say but specially our kids and focus mainly on them and their happiness and wealth"
"Mhm"
"Also keeping in mind that we are both their parents you know? We both have the same authority on them and have the same right to decide when it comes to them"
"I think that's the most important thing right? Cause I've met parents that don't respect the other one and stuff"
"I mean there's no need to fight over nothing or meaningless things but yeah just keeping that in mind, we are both their parents and you know it's been easier for us because both Barbara and I are in the same page of what we want for our kids, we want them to have a healthy and loving family environment"
"Is there any awkwardness or maybe some tension between the two of you?"
"Uhm no not at all, we actually hang out all the time"
"You do?" Ellen said surprised as the audience laughed.
"With the kids of course. We just want them to see that.. you know we're still a family even if things didn't work out between Barbara and me. Not that they understand or even know what's like happening but it's still good to be all together. At the end of the day Harley and Alanna are what's most important for both of us and we've always put them in first place in absolutely everything"
"If you don't mind me asking, what happened between you two?" Harry made an awkward face at Ellen's question.

"I think we both just needed a break. I mean seven years with someone there's obviously little fights here and there that eventually start getting harder to ignore, and you know I guess we didn't know how to fix it? I guess. Things just started to get a little bit hard and we didn't want our problems to affect the kids or our family's sake, so it was like an agreement from the both of us and I mean no relationship is perfect and ours wasn't the exception sometimes it just doesn't work out"
"Alright, hope I didn't put you in an awkward place"
"Not at all, don't worry"
"Okay we have to go on a break know but we'll be back very soon" Ellen said to the audience.
