Paper Cranes

I believed you were the one for me
Watch these paper wings as they fly me across the sea
I turned all my dreams into reality
All except the one where you stayed here with me

I got the moon and all of the stars
Jupiter, Saturn, and Mars
To find I don't quite fancy outer space
To find it's not the right time, nor the right place

How are we so far apart
This constant ache beside my heart
Grows until it soon consumes
It ruins my every afternoon

You fold paper cranes out of these pages
You stayed dusk to dawn through all the ages
With me through and through, back to back,
You stuck like glue

You might think that none of this will matter
I should be on Earth- not Saturn
But it was always worth it because
I spent that time with you among the stars
