Break my heart

WIND BLEW THROUGH CATALINA'S SHORT hair as she continued to walk beside her prison world counterpart. They decided to take the normal way up the stairs, much to Kai's dismay, and they had been walking for quite awhile now. Pretty hard to believe they were in Paris, somewhere where neither of them figured they'd end up.

"I can't believe we are doing this right now." Kai shook his head as he gripped onto the railing, his calves getting sore from the "exercise".

"I can't believe I actually convinced you." Catalina  laughed, tucking hair behind her ear. "I would've settled for anywhere out of Mystic Falls or Portland."

"Portland?" Kai stopped climbing the stairs and looked at Cat, his eyebrows raised in thought.

"I'm from Portland. Do you even listen when I talk?" The Santos woman scoffed and pushed passed him, the witch following behind her.

"Sometimes I do. I usually don't care what you are saying." he shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly. "How did you get here again?"

"I was hungry so, I was going to go munch on some cute little twins when I got cornered by some witches." Catalina furrowed her brows, confused at why he was just now concerned by anything about her. "Why?"

"Do you listen when I talk?" Kai repeated her question but, with a bit more attitude and charm.

"I honestly zone out you just talk so much and-" the vampire was cut off mid sentence, making her roll her eyes.

"Well, you've met my family." The Parker man shrugged, digging his hands into his pockets, his body now feeling numb enough to make it to the top with no complaints.

"Those assholes? No wonder you want to kill them." Catalina scoffed, now knowing everything made complete and total sense, they were put here by the same people, probably for the same reason. "Even i'd help you do it."

Kai stopped once again and turned around with a twinkle in his eye. "You would?"

"Do you want me to?" Cat now stopped, looking him straight in the face for a trace of emotion, or anything to indicate he could feel something besides the love of pork grinds, anything 90s, and sarcasm.

"I think you would be pretty good at helping me torture them." he stated simply, his face not moving an inch.

The Santos woman took that as a sign to keep moving upward.

"Well, after sticking me in here with you i've got to get payback somehow." Cat spoke, seeing the ending of the steps not too far ahead.

The Parker man seen this and ran past her quickly, making it to the top first.
