y/n woke up abruptly. her hands were clutched around her arms, leaving red marks where her nails dug in. a raspy breathe escaped her lungs, and tears began to well in her eyes. they spilled over, and she finally removed her hands from their death grip on her arms to wipe her cheeks.

she held her hands against her chest, trying to force air in and out, yet it kept catching in her throat. after an eternity, she could finally breathe enough to reach for her phone, though it shook in her hands. no matter how hard she tried, her hands would not stop shaking.
