"BUT it's not my birthday?" Yumiko asked with an unsure tone, confused and still half asleep. What were her friends doing here? She hadn't seen them only for a few months as they were all busy with their own curricular activities and they couldn't find time to meet up since they went to different schools.
She had also almost lost connection with them even though they had that group chat, back then, she was still unsure of a lot of things. Not that she was completely sure about everything, that's definitely not the case.
She forgot that she actually had someone. Actually, not just one. She felt disappointed in herself to ever feel like she had completely no one, that it had to take someone to make her realize it. Not that she was against it, she was actually thankful. Thankful that she met someone that made her realize that she wasn't alone.
"What do you mean? It's your birthday, Yumiko babe, look," Hirose, one of her guy friends peeked from the floor he was laying on, opening his phone and showing Yumiko the date, "Don't tell me you forgot?"
