background (childhood) : jaeseong lived in hawaii from birth and until the age of eleven, when he moved to daegu, south korea. he lived near kailua beach in a suburban, two-story home with just his parents. being an only child, things got a little lonely and he never got any pets, so he resorted to making friends around the neighborhood and from school. he was a very social boy and had no problems making friends. he talked to anyone around him, even striking up conversations with older adults around him. everyone at school at least knew of him, but he didn't really care about the popularity. his paternal grandparents as well as most of the family on his father and mother's side lived in hawaii as well and jae often went and visited them with his parents. they were a very tight knit family, his cousins became his best playmates and his grandparents became his favorite adults (other than his parents of course). he picked up surfing at a young age and it became a past time he did almost every day. as well as surfing, he began playing sports with friends, something that progressed into his later life as well.
