The Night We Met

My eyes opened suddenly and I let out a huge gasp

"FLORA GET A NURSE" it was mum's voice

"Mum" I held her hand as she stayed crying

I recognized I was in the hospital I hadn't remembered anything that happened

The doctors came to check on me

"No saying if her eye color will ever come back" he pointed his wand at my eyes

"Do you know who you are?" he asked

"Flora Burke, I'm 16 years old" "It's March, i'm house Slytherin"

"Love it's June" Mum said as dad entered and hugged me tightly

"So youre 17 now" She reminded me that my birthday just passed

"I would like to keep her under surveillance today" I heard him pull my parents to the side

"Ive missed you so much" It was Caleb and Mark

"We can't guarantee her memories will come back she doesn't seem to remember anything but the basics"

I saw him hold up a brain scan "She'll have the same knowledge but connections and small details she may never recover"

I started to recite a potion in my head it was still all there

"What happened" I moved my hand which felt odd

"Dark magic basically" Mum helped me stand up

"It's best to get back to this, your body needs to remember how it feels to walk" she held me up and walked me around the bed

My muscles were sore, it ached to walk, each step I felt my muscles stretch

Everyone stayed with me tonight, Caleb and Mark held my hands. I couldn't sleep. I feel so well rested i'm just counting the tiles at this point

Going home it felt as if no time passed. It became easier to walk and my vocal cords were used to talking and I could make full sentences now

My head always hurt when I tried to remember things. I couldn't remember having friends. When I thought of school all I could remember was classes and lectures.

From what I understood the dark magic had spread all over my body and that's what caused me to forget everything it was my body trying to forget the pain

I enjoyed summer stretching out my legs and laying out on the sun.

Mum watched me very closely making sure I was okay

She didn't want me to go back to Hogwarts but I told her I wanted to finish and it might be good to be back I might start remembering

I've gotten so close with Caleb and Mark they still treat me as a piece of glass that will shatter at any point. Behind my parents back they taught me how to drive a muggle car

All four of them took me to Kings cross station

"Anything and I mean anything you send me an owl right away" Mum held me tightly

I walked on the train and hoped no one would recognize me, maybe I didn't remember friends because I didn't have any?

I walked to find an empty seat and people whispered as I walked by

"Flora?" A boy stood up followed by the rest of them in that compartment

"Flora" one boy ran and hugged me I was confused and didn't hug him back

"I missed you so much" he leaned in and kissed me

I pushed him off "I'm sorry but who are you?"

He looked at me frozen everyone else around him looked at me oddly

"What do you mean" he stepped back

"I'm sorry it's just after my accident I can't really remember much" I said awkwardly

"If you'd excuse me" I walked past them and sat down in a compartment by myself

I pulled out the book mum bought me and started reading about new developments in nonverbal magic

"Flora" the same boy walked into the compartment

"Hi" I said awkwardly blushing remembering that I just had my first kiss

He just sat down and stared at me

"I'm sorry but maybe if you told me your name I could remember something" I tried to be optimistic

"Theo, Theodore Nott" he looked so hopeful but nothing

I shook my head and he started crying in his hands

"I'm sorry Theo" I said awkwardly not knowing what to say

I started reading my book and I ignored his cries. I couldn't do much

Another boy entered

"Hey Flora" he sat down

"I'm sorry you are?" I felt so bad having to ask

"Graham Montague" he smiled slightly

"Flora so good to have you back" Another boy entered

"Cassius Warrington" he shook my hand

"Can I call you Cassie? or is that too much nevermind" I got embarrassed and my cheeks turned red

"You can call me that if you'd like" he smiled at me

The final boy entered

"Flora Burke back from the dead" he hugged me

"Blaise Zabini, I heard your head was like all empty" He joked

"It's not empty I just don't remember any of my relationships with anyone" I shrugged

"So you don't recognize any of us?" Montague asked

"I remember seeing you in my classes but I don't think we've ever talked" I answered shyly

"Not even Theo?" Blaise asked

"Don't mention it i'm scared he'll start crying again" I laughed and they joined in Theo didn't quite the serious lad

"Want anything from the trolley?" Warrington asked so nicely

"I cant really taste sweets anymore" I was disappointed I wished I could taste chocolate again but dark magic is hard to get out of the body and when it finally comes out it takes most good things with it

Theo just stared at me the entire ride it made me quite uncomfortable

"Did we date or something" I finally asked

They all looked at me shocked

"Please dont be mad it just isn't there i'm so sorry" my eyes started watering

"making her cry already seems like somethings never change" warrington said handing me a tissue

"I'll fucking kill you Warrington" he got up

"I have no doubt about that" he scoffed

I thought they were friends but the tension between them was heavy

I was tired meeting new people was exhausting so I slept on his shoulder the rest of the train ride

I'm guessing these are my friends and I'm guessing Theo was my boyfriend or maybe he still is.
