Danny ran up the stairs and rushed to Baez' side.
Jamie: Danny? What!?
Danny: Call a bus! Now!
Jamie calls 911: 5 minutes later they're outside Danny's place carrying Maria out on a stretcher.
Eddie: I don't understand what happened. Jamie?
Danny: I can tell you what happened! Jamie shot Baez after she identified herself!
Jamie: Danny, I'm really sorry. I didn't know it was her. I didn't recognize her voice and once she put her hands into her pocket, I guess I just panicked.
Eddie: You didn't mean to Jamie.
Danny: I'm going to the hospital.
@ The hospital:
Danny: Well why can't I go in?
Doctor: She's in surgery. Are you family?
Danny: Family? No. Family.... Did she have her phone on her?
Doctor: Yes, we can't give it to you unless you're family though.
Danny: Look, I'm the police commissioner's son. Will you just give it to me? I need to call her family.
Doctor: Here.
Danny calls her mom and sister
2 hours later: Danny's waiting in the hospital's waiting room.
Doctor: You can come see her now. Is her family here?
Danny: No. They didn't come. *Danny sounded disgusted
The Doctor led Danny into the room Baez was staying in:
Doctor: Her medicine is just wearing off.
Danny: Maria!
Maria stirred: Danny?
Danny: Hey, Maria.
Maria: What...what happened?
Danny: I'm so sorry Maria. I shouldn't have brought you to my house. None of this would've happened if I hadn't brought you there.
Maria: Why were we at your house?
Danny: Well, we were gonna hang out.
Maria: Why? We never hang out.
Danny: I'm gonna go get the Doctor.
