Him

It was all the same
The water was electric
The air was ponderous
But it drove me insane
In a single moment
I could heave the dirt in my lungs
& the water went down filthy
I felt all colors dim
& slowly start to die
A toxic thought brought in would begin to spread
& shut down my mind
So that the heart could cry. Could feel
& take a raw beating
Until numbness lost count of moments fleeting
her smile was sublime
& her eyes were everlasting
a rapid-flipping dime
A true, genuine soul burning what's left of life
20 strokes of genius high on creativity resulted in her
& she was never mine
I never found her attention
Because she was lost in him
Every sensation she gave me, in the end, had me grim
She went insane with him
She confound with him
Indulged in him
In him
Him
