Even if You're With Him ✔

Chapter 6

I'm setting the table when I feel Taehyung's arm wrap around me and he rests his head on my shoulder. "Do you think this will work?" He asks. I offered to cook lunch when Namjoon decided to text Jungkook to come over to make a plan to stop our engagement for good. I look over to the living room and see my brother lost in the conversation he's currently having with Yoongi.

"I hope it does," I turn to face Taehyung and wrap my arms around his neck once he brings his hands around my waist. "I feel like he's our only option. Namjoon would move mountains if it made me happy. He would do anything  to make sure that you and I stay together." I kiss him reassuringly and groan when there's a knock at the door interrupting our sweet moment. "It's open!" I call out to our visitors. 

Jimin and Jungkook walk in hands linked together with the biggest smiles on their faces. "Let's kill this engagement," Jungkook says excitedly with a clap of his hands.

We all gather around the table to eat the lunch I prepared, and move to the living room once we finish and Taehyung and I agree to clean up later. "We have a way to break off this engagement for good," Jungkook speaks up, excitedly, once we all get seated. He looks over to Jimin, who is displaying the biggest smile on his face, but my gaze trails to his hand slightly rubbing his stomach and I know where this is going.

"I just found out I'm pregnant," he says excitedly. The room goes silent as we look at the beaming couple sitting in front of us. I blink a couple of times processing the news before leaping out of my seat and throw myself in between them to bring Jimin into a bone crushing hug, making sure I watch out for his belly.

"Congratulations," I say and pull back to wipe his tears of happiness. Cheering soon follows behind me as the rest of our friends get up and congratulate the soon to be parents. Hugs and pats are exchanged, and we all settle down to hear more about the news.

"It wasn't planned," Jungkook cleared up. "We really wanted to wait until this engagement thing was dealt with, but Jimin started to feel sick recently. He finally agreed to me taking him to the doctor a couple of days ago, and that's when they gave us the news that he's six weeks pregnant," he explains with the biggest smile on his face.

We cheer one last time for them until Namjoon quiets us all down and brings us back to the topic of why we're all gathered in my living room. "So I'm assuming you will be telling your family, right?" Namjoon directs his question to Jungkook, who nods eagerly.

He turns to both me and Taehyung. "Jimin and I were talking. I'm going to talk with your father and tell him that I won't go through with the wedding. I understand you and Taehyung are still not telling anyone about your relationship yet. I have decided to take full responsibility, and tell Mr. Kim that I've had an affair throughout our engagement and that the affair has resulted in Jimin's pregnancy. Jin, all you have to do is go along with it and pretend you didn't know anything, and play the victim. If Mr. Kim gets mad it'll be at me, and he will never allow  so you and Taehyung won't have to worry about anything."

I look at Jungkook and consider his proposition. It would be the easy way out to play the victim, and pretend I was cheated on. I would be able to get out of this unwanted engagement and stay with Taehyung. It would make everything so much easier, but it wouldn't be fair, and I wouldn't feel comfortable with my best friends taking full responsibility for the failed engagement. "You can tell our parents about the pregnancy, but I'm not going to play the victim card," I say making a decision. "I'm not going to let you take full responsibility for this. Both you and I went into this engagement not wanting it. Both you and I were aware of the relationships we got into while we were supposed to plan our wedding, so it's only fair that we both talk to our parents about it. We should have never let this engagement go on for this long, so lets break it together."

"Are you sure about this?" Namjoon asks. We all turn to look at him in complete confusion as if he grew a second head.

I gesture to Jimin who's pouting, completely lost in what Namjoon just said. "I don't know if you missed the part where Jimin said he's pregnant?" I ask my brother. "We cheered. You hugged Jungkook and everything. You are aware Jimin is going to start showing soon, right? You can't expect them to hide his pregnancy. Anyways weren't you the one that said we need to stop hiding?"

"I didn't mean hide. I meant something more like, run." I shake my head completely lost now, so Namjoon explains further. "Yoongi and I were talking. Once dad has his mind set on something, he will do anything in his power to get it. I worry about what he might do when you, Taehyung, Jungkook, and Jimin step forward and tell the truth about your relationships. I don't condone running away, but in your cases I feel like maybe that could be the safest way out."

"Where would we go?" I ask. "Dad will track us no matter where we went to. You know that."

"I know some people who forge documents and passports for a living, and Hoseok has connections in other countries who help people disappear for safety." Yoongi speaks up. "They can make sure the four of you find a new home if the meeting with your parents does not go as planned."

"This is our home, though, so let's hope it doesn't get to that," I say. "Anyways, I know dad is hard headed and stubborn, but he's not dangerous. He'll be pissed off, that's a given, and I know he's going to take all my funds, but I never cared about giving up the family money.

My brother and Yoongi exchange glances as if still doubting the outcome of our talk, but Namjoon soon gives in and shakes his head. "Alright, I'll accompany you all to the company tomorrow, to talk to Dad, and Mr. Jeon. Whatever happens Yoongi and I have your backs," he says.

My hand is squeezed into Taehyung's bringing my attention to him. He brings his lips to my temple as he pull me into his embrace. "Forever and always, right?"

I look up to get lost in his fond gaze. The one that always tells me that I'm his whole world, and I lean up to kiss his lips. "Forever and always," I reassure mumbling against his mouth and losing myself against the full pair of lips.
