Morning
Your mind was foggy and your body was aching, the soft sand could be felt below you. Where am i? Many questions were crossing your mind, but you couldn't ask them. You heard something.

"ᵗʰᵉʳᵉ'ˢ ˢᵒᵐᵉᵒⁿᵉ ᵒᵛᵉʳ ᵗʰᵉʳᵉ!"

Someone was running towards you, your mind was telling you to run, but your body told you otherwise. You remained on the sandy flooring as the entity that ran towards you had come to a stop.
"Are you okay?" a boyish voice asked.
Your eyes opened as you stared at the boy that had approached you. He had been trying to help you up. As you looked around some more you noticed that you woke up on a beach, and that the boy had blonde hair tied into a braid.

"Paimon thinks Aether is being too rough!" a high pitched voice protested. You looked around for any clues where that voice could've come from. But it didn't take long for you to notice a floating creature to float up from behind the boy. What?
"Hi! I am Paimon! And you ar-"
"Paimon hush, are you okay?"
The creature had been interrupted by the boy, who was staring at you with worry. All you could do was reply with a small nod, your throat hurt.

"That's a relief.." the boy frowned as he carefully placed you down on one of the rocks. He sat down infront of you on the sand. "What happened?"

"I.. I don't know.." You stared down at the floor. What did you remember? Not much, that's something you were certain of. "Thank you for er.. Helping me."
"Paimon accepts your thanks!" the small creature seemed to take credit for the rescue. It was amusing to you, they're quite full of themselves.

"My name's Aether, and this is my emergency food." Paimon hit him on the head, a "He-ey! Am not!" escaping them. You couldn't help but chuckle. Those two seemed to get along well as travel partners. "What are you laughing at?!" Paimon mentioned. "Well, what's your name?"

My name... Oh right my name..!
"It's.. (Y/N)..."
"Alright (Y/N), let me take you to Mondstadt."

Evening
You had been traveling towards a place called Mondstadt all day now. Aether and Paimon were accompanying you. You weren't sure on if they were trustworthy but you didn't have a choice, atleast it meant shelter.
The journey had taken awhile because Aether was trying his best taking a route that avoided enemy encounters. You didn't have a weapon, you'd be defenseless.

"So (Y/N).." Aether began.
"Yes?"
"You say you don't remember how you got here?"
You nodded at his question. It was scary, not knowing where you came from, and how you got here.
Aether seemed to have noticed your expression.
"It will be alright.."
Huh?
"Actually, i am searching for someone. My sister. When i arrived in this world she was taken by some god. I am now searching for The Seven."
You couldn't help but pity him. You were glad that you didn't have to lose any family members. Did you even have any? Did they miss you?

"We're here." Aether had interrupted your thoughts as you looked forward. The three of you were standing on a bridge. A huge city surrounded in castle walls standing in-front. "Woah.."
"Paimon thinks (Y/N) is impressed!"
"Alright Captain-Obvious." Aether commented as he went inside the city. "Welcome to Mondstadt."

The city felt so.. Welcoming. Even though it was evening there were still some shops open and Citizen having a good time. The woah you once mentioned was nothing compared to the woah you now felt. It's so lovely here.

Aether spoke up."Let me take you to the Tavern here. I'll pay as i assume you won't have any Mora."
Mora..?
"It seems my assumptions were correct." Aether had taken you down a path, stopping at the tavern he mentioned.
A brown haired man seemed to be advertising the tavern. "Come in, take a seat! We have a few specialities down here in Angel's Share."

Aether opened the door for you, letting you go inside. He followed right after and shut the door behind him. Leaving Paimon outside. "G'day Charles. I'd like to reserve the room upstairs for (Y/N) over here." He placed down a bag of Mora on the counter. Huh, he didn't seem that rich. "I'll discuss things with master Diluc about it later, don't worry."
The bartender just nodded and tossed the keys towards you.
You barely managed to catch them. "O-oh thanks."
"No problem." The bartender dismissed the both of you.

Aether took you to an empty table in the corner of the tavern. You both sat down, you wanted to thank him.

A loud shriek knocked over the entire atmosphere of the tavern. "AETHER! THIS IS THE 19TH TIME THIS WEEK THAT PAIMON HAS BEEN DOORSLAMMED!"
You could hear a quiet "19? I thought it was 21.." coming from the accused boy. The comment made you smile slightly.

Paimon made their way over to your table. "Paimon thinks this is very immature of Aether! Punish him (Y/N)!"
Aether just shook his head in dissapointment. "Your room is upstairs. You have the keys so.. Make yourself at home. I'll be around, i have something to take care of."

You were shoo'd away from the conversation and quickly made your way up the stairs to your room. You opened the door. The room was small and there was a single bed, desk, wardrobe and a bookshelf. It's messy.. You would've complained more but you were thankful that you got this for free. You sat down at the bed. This isn't that bad.. Perhaps i can find answers here.
