A/N: You may notice the exaggeration of one of the rare forms of synesthesia. It's just a product of my imagination. Happy reading!

BLAISE

Living lie detector.

Living lie detector.

It echoed on my mind.

If what he said was true, then he probably had lexical-gustatory synesthesia. It’s one of the rare forms of synesthesia. Synesthete could able to taste or smell words, either said or written by somebody else.

“How do I prove? Um . . .” Harith said then gently touched his chin. He was thinking of a better idea to verify that what he just said to us was true and Kavin was lying. “Let’s play two truths and one lie then!” He cracked a grin at him as he came up with that idea—a game.

Kavin just rolled his eyes.

Naisip ko tuloy na mag-volunteer. Pero ano naman ang sasabihin ko? Hmm. Two truths and one lie, huh? Think, Blaise. Think!

I had to clear my throat before speaking. “First, I’m an only child. Second, I transferred here in Lewis High because of my father’s sudden demise.” I bowed down my head and bit my lower lip, refraining myself not to cry in front of them. “L-Last, I c-can see everyone’s emotions.”

It’s time for him to guess which one of my statements was a lie. But if he really had lexical-gustatory synesthesia, then he could detect which one effortlessly.

“Easy . . .” he enunciated, grinning. “It’s the first one!”

My eyes immediately went wide. So, totoo nga? He could able to taste words of people speaking to him?
