"YOU DON'T REMEMBER ANYTHING THAT HAPPENED?"
"Nope."
Luna sighs as she lays staring at the ceiling. Lydia bites her lip as she glances beside her at Luna.
"They called it a fugue state. Which is basically a way of saying 'We have no idea why you can't remember running around the woods naked for two days.''"
Luna turns her head to focus her attention on Lydia who stares back with a blank look on her face.
"And how does that make you feel?"
"Personally, I don't care. I lost nine pounds"
Luna scoffs, "Lydia... can we be serious for a second... please. You went missing. You were running around the woods, the cold woods, the woods that is full of animals You were gone for two days. I thought the worse but hopes for the best. I-I Lyds if you didn't show up when you did I don't know what would've happened."
Lydia shrugs messing with her fingers not trying to look at Luna, "What do you want me to say?"
"I want you to be real with me. I'm your best friend. I care about you a lot... obviously."
Lydia lets out a sigh as a tear falls down her cheek. Her wall was finally broken. Not that it was a surprise to Luna, the two were very close even if it didn't seem like it to the outside world.
"I-I just I don't know what happened. One minute I was in the shower next minute it's clogged up with dirty water and hair. It wasn't even mine. But then again I don't even think it was there. I feel like I'm going crazy. I remember a man on the lacrosse field and I remember you holding me and crying but I don't know what happened... please tell me I'm not crazy."
Luna grabs Lydia's hand and squeezes it, "You're not crazy Lyds. You'll never sound crazy to me... promise. We'll figure out everything. I swear."
KNOCK KNOCK
Lydia mumbles a come in just as the door slowly creaks open. Lydia's mom stands on the other side of the door smiling.
"Hi girls. Lights out... it's back to school tomorrow morning. And thanks so much Luna for staying the night and keeping an eye on Lydia. You're a great friend."
"Of course. There's no where else I'd rather be."
Lydia's mom flips off the lights before closing the door. Lydia squeezes tightly onto Luna's hand once more before she closes her eyes.
"Tomorrow will be a brand new day."
"Yeah with everyone staring at me like I'm a nutcase."
"Or staring at you because you look smoking hot... you lost nine freaking pounds girl."
