9: Declaration of War

This could be bad...

A very bad decision.

"Here I go, Shouko-san. Prepare your 10,000 yen because I'll be getting them."

"Not bad, Sayuri. But then do you really think I'd lose to my own kouhai?"

I sweat-dropped after seeing her smirking behind her cards. She could be bluffing, or maybe she indeed has the upper hand.

"Yuri...hey, Sayuri. Tone down your cursed energy or you'll scare the corpses in here." She suddenly patted to the table beside us.

Oh, right.

"Sorry! I was tense,"

We were in the school's morgue playing cards. Shouko-san was studying a corpse when I decided to pay her a visit, a very bad timing actually, and yet we both ended up playing instead.

We got bored.

"So? How was the investigation with Satoru?" She asked, arranging her cards once more.

"It was difficult to trace but based on the remnants of his cursed energy, Satoru's sure that it was indeed Getou-senpai's."

"I see. So that guy's back, huh? Knowing him, he'll probably appear right now-"

The two of us were interrupted after an announcement was made from above. It was a message from Yaga-sensei telling that an intruder has entered the school.

"ALL FIRST-CLASS JUJUTSU SORCERERS, GATHER AT THE FRONT ROTARY!"

"See? Told ya he's coming." Shouko-san placed down her cards and then stuck a cigarette on her lips.

"You're not going?" I asked.

"I'm a healer, Sayuri. I shouldn't be on the front lines."

Well, she does have a point. But then I just figured that maybe she wants to see senpai-

I shouldn't actually meddle with that.

I excused myself and quickly rushed towards the school grounds. There, many sorcerers have gathered already prepared for battle, and the students were out in the front where the intruders are. Tension easily formed after Yuuta suddenly shrugged off Getou's arms, and Satoru quickly coming between them.

"What did I miss?" I asked, finding Mei Mei amongst the crowd.

"Goodness, Sayuri. Time is money, didn't I tell you that?" She replied and both of us shared a quick laugh, still focused on the intruders.

Getou-senpai sensed my cursed energy and suddenly looked in my direction. He waved his hand and greeted me with so much hype.

His smile was a bit disturbing.

"Abe! You're here! I was worried you won't make it in time before I make my announcement..." His smile slowly formed into a smirk.

"Gather 'round, everyone! Open your ears and listen well!"

"On the 24th of December during the sunset, we shall perform a Hundred Demons Night Parade! The places shall be the crucible of curses, Shinjuku, Tokyo! And the capital of Jujutsu, Kyoto!"

"1,000 curses will be released in each place, and their orders will be to, "kill the trash'. Let us curse each other as much as we want!"

1,000? I thought it's a 'Hundred' Demons Parade?

Just kidding, now's not the time for sarcasm.

The sorcerers held a meeting regarding the declaration of war of Getou-senpai afterward. Everyone, especially Yaga-sensei was serious about exorcising (killing) him this time. Dispatching many sorcerers at hand; the alumni, the three clans, and a Jujutsu company --- they were indeed preparing for an all-out war.
