Niko pulls away from her parents, standing up slowly and looking down at her blazer.
"Wow, Kaien's going to be pissed. This is the fourth blazer I've ruined." She says, pulling it off and looking at it. "This one's pretty bad."
"What do you mean!" Nishika grabs the blazer and looks at it, "Just throw it in the wash, it'll be right."
"Shi I'm not quite sure . . ."
"Chisaki are you disagreeing with me?"
"Absolutely not, why would I disagree with the smartest woman on the planet?""Thought so."
Niko watches her parents bicker, trying to recall if she remembers any of this happening in the past. She can't tell, she just hopes so, she doesn't want her parents breaking up just after she has gotten them back.
"Dad," Niko starts, calling to the attention of both her parents.
"Mh?" He looks up to her while placing a hand on Nishika's head and teasing her for her height.
"Vampire?" Niko asks, looking around at all the people around her, "when were you planning on letting me know?"
"Aha . . ." Chisaki rubs the back of his head while Nishika crosses her arms and looks up at her husband. "I think we should go find somewhere to talk."Niko nods and turns around, ready to walk around and find somewhere that hasn't been completely destroyed by the battle. Ayato reaches out and grabs her hand, holding it tightly in his and making her smile. She knows that he wouldn't want her to go all emotional on him in front of everyone, he isn't good about crying in public.
"Hang on a minute," Chisaki calls out, bending right down and glaring at their entwined hands. "What is this?" He looks up to his daughter who is looking back down and blinking at him.
"Chisaki," Nishika starts, rubbing her face, "We have spoken about this, when she is sixt–"
"She isn't sixteen, she is seven." Chisaki says and picks up his daughter, running away with her in his arms, "No boys!"
"CHISAKI!" Nishika yells, steeping next to Ayato who is watching everything play out with a blank expression. "Come here! We have things to do!"
Chisaki freezes, turning back to his wife with an unpleasant look on his face, looking at his wife. "Yes, dear."
"Don't you 'Yes, dear' me you hunk of meat, get over here." Nishika places a hand on Ayato's shoulder, scaring him slightly and making him jump.He doesn't remember much about Niko's parents, just that they were nice and took care of him and Touka while they were parentless, until they got to Anteiku of course.
"Niko you listen to me, I don't want you to be near any boys. Go near a boy and I will kill said boy."
"Dad,"
"No you listen to me, all boys want is the same thing. You may not have been educated well enough, but reproduction is something that al–"
"Chisaki, shut up," Nishika says, rolling her eyes.
"Wha–huh–Nishika are you seeing this? They were holding hands! Are you not seeing this?" Chisaki puts Niko down and holds his hands together, imitating holding hands with himself.
"Yes Chisaki, leave them alone," Nishika says, walking to the edge of the roof.
"Nishika, she must learn about these disgusting ways of the male gender." Chisaki follows his wife to the edge of the roof.
"Chisaki come here." Nishika pulls him next to her, looking towards her daughter who has moved back and over to Ayato.
She sighs and climbs onto him, wrapping her arms around his neck and her legs around his waist, wanting to sleep more than anything, but she has to get answers from her father first. She buries her head into Ayato's shoulder, humming lighter. Ayato brings his hands around, one holding her up and the other wrapped around her waist so she doesn't fall back if she lets go of him. He presses a kiss to her cheek lightly, getting a kiss on his neck in return.
