3- lab rats and anxiety

I woke up with a cough. A bright light hurting my eyes as I tried to open them. I rolled to the side and finally opened them to see i was laying on the ground near water.
Then everything hit me at once and I remembered last night's events

Dan, the guy I was crushing on is a psycho who tried to kill me

My eyes widened as I scrambled to get up. I was freezing and confused as to how I was even alive.

I looked around me to see I had no clue where in the world I was. I span around on my heels as I heard something behind me.

I saw two men wearing black uniforms approach me with guns pointed

"Woah" I let out as I put my arms up in surrender. What the fuck

"Who are you? You are trespassing"
One of them said still not lowering his gun. I stood still trying to figure out what to say

"Speak. Now" he stated and I started to stutter out a sentence

" I, I- uh, I didn't know i was trespassing. I was washed out on the shore here" I said looking around nervously

They got closer and one of them lowered the gun
"Dude, she's a kid" he said to the guy who was questioning me before.

"So? Still a potential threat" he said narrowing his eyes at me which made me freeze up.
The other guy walked up to him and forced him to put his gun down.

" Are you alright? Were you near the explosion when it happened? " he asked looking at me with a worried look. I gave him a confused one in return

"N-no, yea I'm fine. What explosion?" I asked
They both looked at each other and before I knew it they were by my side pulling me away from the shore

Oh God, this is how I die, isn't it? Dan couldn't end me so these guys will?

They dragged me to a warehouse and called out for someone
"FELIX! We need you to inspect someone" one of them shouted

A man in a lab coat appeared and walked up to us

"Yes, yes, what is it?" He asked and then looked at me

"We think this one might have been exposed to the explosion" the kind one said motioning towards me.
The man named Felix nodded and asked me to follow him. I hesitated as the two guards were encouraging me to go.
Felix must have felt I wasn't behind him when he turned around and said
" well come on, this is for your own safety" I started following him, still confused.

We got to a lab that had a chair and he asked me to sit down. I sat on it and he attached a wire to me

"Now, don't worry, this is just something to test if any radioactivity is present on you" he said and my eyes widened

"Radio- what? Why would there be any radioactivity on me?" I asked growing more and more confused.
Felix sighed and put his hands on the table in front of me.

"Last night there was an explosion. A stone that wasn't supposed to be in our world hit the water and then something forced it to explode causing radiation to be freed in to the air. It isn't too bad for other's but noticing that you were by the shore, it could have affected you." He said and I gulped

"Uh, actually...I was in the water last night. I was pushed in and then I was knocked unconscious " I said my heart beat picking up.

At this i saw him tense up and immediately start rushing around the room.
"What time did that happen around? When you got pushed?" He hurriedly asked.
"Uh, I don't know. I think it was around 10 pm when I got there so probably around 10.30 I was in the water" I said and he rummaged through some papers
