"What in the world were you thinking?" I ask the man standing in front of me. Stark looked at me as if I was the crazy one

"I just saved your ass from those morons questioning you and possibly locking you up. I bought you time" he states proudly as I huff

"Not a lot of it. Stark, what the hell are you on?" Fury suddenly walks in to the room, sassing Tony

"I'm saving her from your little puppeteers. Have you forgotten what happened last time?"

"I don't have puppeteers. And no, I haven't forgotten, but this decision of yours is just plain stupid. Have you even thought about the consequences of this? What happens when they find out you lied?"

"Well, it won't be the first time. And I did think about the consequences, which is why I've decided to become her actual legal guardian"

"You what?!"
"You what?!" Fury and I both exclaimed. Lying is one thing, but this, this is a whole new level of what the fuck.

"She's a minor and she doesn't have anyone here. This is the best option. If she doesn't get locked up, she'll be put in the system"

"Or I have a better idea....I just go back to my universe" I state

"Absolutely not" the two men in front of me state, making me huff

"Why not? It's not like I will stay here forever" I state not really seeing the point in all of this when a sudden pang in my chest made me scrunch up my face. I could feel pain and I felt like it was the fight with Hale all over again. But just as soon as it appeared, it was gone. Fury and Stark seemed not to notice. I let out a shaky breath as i gained back my senses.

"Guys, we have a problem" Natasha popped in to the room, confusion on her face

We all walked out to the Conference room

"There was a heat signature an hour away. Just like with the alien, only this time it was bigger"

"Do we check it out?"

"We don't have much of a choice"

"I'm coming with" I state before Stark has the opportunity to lock me in again. This time instead of arguing, he rolled his eyes

As we we're getting ready to leave, I spotted Peter and decided to walk up to him

"Hi" I say, offering a small smile

"Hey" he gave me a warm smile

"Listen, please don't tell anyone about what you saw at the gym..." I ask him quietly as I became a bit nervous, not sure on how he'd respond to this

"I'll consider it our little secret" he laughed making me let out a small laugh too.

"Do you really want to go back?" He suddenly asks. I thought about it for a second before answering him

"I have to" I say, looking him in the eyes to find an emotion i couldn't pin point in them. I couldn't really explain, but i had to get back. If not because of Emma, then because of my parents. Even tho our relationship sucks, they are still family and, at this point, they are the only ones left.

"You miss your family?" Peter asked and all i could do was nodd in reply

"At this point, i don't care what happens to me, as long as they are safe. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if i lost them too" I state and we were left standing in silence, but it wasn't the awkward type, it was, in some way, comforting. At times like these i wished i could read his thoughts to know what he was feeling, but i didn't want to use my powers on him.
