When we both wake up the next morning, neither of us mention the events of the previous night. He leaves back to his room and I decide that it's time to tell the Captain. When I do, he listens closely to what I have to say, and looks almost about as shocked as I did.

"So what do you plan to do?"

"If it's possible, I'd like to stay here. I think this is where I should be. I know that I was born there, but I can't imagine a life not here"

"I'm glad to hear it y/n. I take it you and Yuno talked about it?"

I nod a smile on my lips. "It was a bit of a shock, but he listened and understood."

"Great. Then shall we get in with training?"

A couple of hours pass of training with the captain and he lets Kaito and I go. The two of us smile and now, happy about the progress we're making. Once back inside the base, we head to the mas hall to get a drink of water and see Yuno and Bell

"Hey Yuno!" A bright smile graces my lips as he turns to look at me

"Oh hey..."

"What are you and Bell doing here?"

"Just getting a drink of water before we start training"

"Oh can we join? We just got finished training with the captain and I'm confident in our progress. I want to try against you"

"I'd prefer to do solo training today" he says before walking out of the room, not sparing me another glance.

"Oh okay..." I whisper once he's out of the room.

'That was...strange. He never misses an opportunity to train with me'

"Someone woke up in the wrong side of the bed this morning" Kaito huffs, crossing his arms. "Wonder what bug went up his ass"

"It's probably nothing Kaito, lets just go back to the room"

Kaito pouts and mutters something under his breath before going into my grimoire. I let out a sigh, rubbing my hand over its cover, then shake my head and continue on my way. Getting back to my room, I take a seat at the desk and pull out the satchel.

'I should probably make some tea, I'll probably be going on another mission soon'

Another few hours pass and I finish with the teas, leaning back in my chair. My gaze averts to the window as leaves flow through the air due to the wind. It's been a long time since there's been this amount of silence, and it's beginning to make me anxious. Silence can be relaxing, but at the same time, there's a sense of loneliness in the air. Placing everything back where I found them, I leave the room trying to find something to do.

"Y/n! There you are I've been looking for you" I turn around to see Mimosa. "I need to talk to you"

I nod and the two of us start to take a stroll outside the base to the garden. "The Captain said you went back home" She starts, my body starting to tense

"Uh yeah...it was a lot of information to take in" Repeating the story for the third time, her expression changes happy to shocked when I tell her about my family.

"Wow a princess" She whispers. "And of the kingdom at that"

"It's not that great" My eyes are glued to my feet. "It's a lot of pressure, having to make a choice to follow your duty, or follow your heart."

"What do you plan to do?" She asks me. "I'm sure everyone would understand if you chose to return home, but we'd all miss you"

"That's just it!" I exclaim. "I want to stay here! I love everyone here! You, the captain, Klaus and Yuno...but I don't want to abandon the people of the Heart Kingdom. I don't understand now" My hands clutch out of both frustration and confusion.

"And Yuno...he acted strangely with me today and I don't know why. Like he was short and distant and I.."I pause as my eyes widen and I realize why he's acting the way he is

'He thinks I'm going to leave..."

"Is something wrong?" Mimosa speaks up, snapping me back to reality.

"Um it's nothing" The two of us stand up and I quickly wrap my arms around her. "Thank you for everything Mimosa, you've been here for me since day one, I really appreciate you"

She hugs back, a small chuckle escaping her lips. "Of course, I'm glad to call you my best friend"

"Me too"

~2 nights later~

Yuno has been acting the same way towards me for 3 days now. Three long days of being shut out by the person I opened up to and not going to lie, it hurts. Every time i would try to speak to him, we would either be short with me, or just nod his head and walk away. Putting up my strong front, I continued to smile around my friends, train my heart out with the captain, and train with Kaito. I sigh, as Kaito and I finish training for the day and start to head back into the base. As I begin to open my door, a hand pressed on it catches my attention and causes me to turn around. Yuno's golden eyes look down on me and my heart begins to pound out of my chest.

"H-Hey Yuno"

He doesn't say anything but grabs my wrist, dragging me back outside the base round to the garden. The entire time I tried to get his attention, asking what he was doing and why, but I was given no response. When we get to his desired location, he simply turns me around, pressing his lips quickly onto mine. Shocked, I move my hands behind his neck as his wrap around my waist, pulling me closer to him. Pulling away a little while later he looks deeply into my eyes and pulls me close.

"Yuno?"

"I know I've been distant, I just needed to think"

"I understand..." I want to continue, but realize it would be selfish of me to, so I stay silent.

He stares into my eyes again, seemingly looking for something. His eyes...they hold something in it that I can't seem to discern.

"Is something wrong?"

"It's nothing" Yuno kisses my head and grabs my hand. "Shall we go?"

I nod, putting on the best smile I can muster. He turns and starts walking back, and as he does, my face falls. It's painfully obvious that theres a distance between the two of us. Watching him walk the way he does makes that clear. Yuno's goal is to become the Wizard King, that much he was sure to let me know since the beginning, while I...I don't know what I'll do. Gulping down the the knot forming in my throat, I put on a bright smile and walk behind him.

For now, I'll follow him and try my best find my purpose here with him, but I know that won't last forever. One day, we're going to have to walk our separate paths

And when that happens...I don't know what I'll do
