Chapter 15 - Where is she?

Yuno's POV

I walk back into headquarters at the rain pours onto the roof making a lot of noise. I don't feel anything but anger. I face the door to her room, feeling my blood start to boil. She's a liar. I trusted her and she lied to me about who she was.

"Yunoooooo" Bell starts to whine

"I'm not in the mood Bell"

"But-"

I use the spell to knock her out and place her in my pocket. The echoes of her cries still ring in my ear, but I don't feel any remorse. She messed up and I did what I had to do. I open the door to my room and lay on my bed, staring at the ceiling. Her power was amazing, I'll admit it. She's the holder of the Golden Heart, meaning she's from the Heart Kingdom. How did she even get here? If everything she said was a lie....a knock at my door breaks me out of thought and I get up to open it, revealing Mimosa. A worried and agitated expression decorates her face and I narrow my eyes.

"What" My tone is cold and sharp

"Where....where is she?"

I roll my eyes. "Hell if I know. Not that I care anyways" I slam the door and retreat back to my bed, returning to my position.

Mimosa's POV

Yuno slams the door in my face and I let out a sigh. I understand he's angry and hurt, I am too, but after she's been here for a while, helped us on missions, done everything she can to support us since she came here...I don't think she would have lied without a good reason. Yuno won't listen to reason though. His anger is clouding his judgement.

"Asta should be able to get through to him" I smile, quickly getting my broom and flying to the Black Bulls base. I land safely outside and get ready to knock on the door when it breaks and Asta comes flying out.

"Asta!"

'I hope he's not hurt....'

"Ow....Mimosa? What are you doing here?" He scratches his head

"Oi Bakasta- Mimosa? Why are you here?" Noelle comes out and crosses her arms

"I need your guys help." I take in a breath. "You know the battle at the capital from yesterday?"

"Yeah, we were stuck getting citizens to safety."

I pause for a minute. "What do you guys know about the Golden Heart"

"Golden Heart?"

"Idiot it's an urban legend" Noelle crosses her arms. "Isn't it about a Grimoire from the Heart Kingdom?"

"When Y/n first came to Golden Dawn, we went on a mission and we came across a book about the Golden heart, but there was almost no information about it in there" I take a deep breath. "I later, with Klaus went to talk with Marx to see if we could find anything else about it"

"Did you find anything?" Noelle asks as Asta stands up

"No...we didn't"

"So then what are you getting at?"

"Noelle....Asta....The only thing we know about it is that it hasn't come out in over a century" I take a deep breath. "Y/n is the holder"

Their eyes widen. "Y/n? That's impossible, I've seen her Grimoire and it has a clover on it." Asta responds

"I don't entirely understand it either, but I saw it during the attack."

"So....what do we do then?"

"I don't know where she is and Yuno's pretty upset with her....I need your help to find her" They both nod and I get back on my broom and Asta gets on with Noelle. I feel a small bubble or jealousy, but shake my head.

'Not the time to be jealous Mimosa'

We get back to Golden Dawn not long after and walk inside. Some of the members stare at us in disgust, but I shrug it off, knowing that's not our concern right now. I place my hand on the doorknob, turning it gently for it to open. I look back at the two, then open the door wider so seen a clean room, blankets folded, curtains opened and the rain still falling. I take notice of something left on the blanket and pick it up. It's her cloak. My eyes widen and arms start to shake.

"She...She left" I whisper

Noelle's eyes widen and she places a hand on my shoulder. "I'm sorry...you guys were close right?"

"I considered her my best friend..." Some tears begin to fall and Asta grits his teeth

"We're going to find her and bring her back. I'm sure she had a reason for doing this. She loved us and wouldn't do anything to hurt us."

"Maybe the captain would know something about this, we should go ask"

They both nod and we step out of the room, cloak still in hand and close the door. My eyes are glued to the floor and we walk in silence, until black boots come into vision. I move my head up and meet Yuno's golden eyes that seem to be glaring into my soul.

"Yuno we're going to go find Y/n if-" Asta starts when Yuno interrupts.

"I want nothing to do with a liar" Venom leaks from his words, anger evident in his voice. I feel myself beginning to get upset by the second.

"Yuno...weren't you guys together? Why-" Noelle tries

"Why would I love a good for nothing deceiving wench?"

I raise my hand and make contact with his face, a loud slap echoing through the empty halls. His eyes are widened, red beginning to form on his cheek. My lip begins to quiver as my rage starts to come out.

"Yuno you asshole! You jumped to such a big conclusion and you don't even know why she kept it hidden! She loved all of us and everything she did was to help and protect us!" Yuno's eyes meet mine, a sliver of weakness showing. Anyone would have missed it, but no one who has known him for a long time

"Now...We're going to go talk to Captain Vangeance about this because I have a feeling he knows something that we don't" All of us continue to walk to his office tension growing with every passing second. We stop just outside the door and I take a deep breath, raising my hand and knocking. Captain Vangeance opens the door, smiling slightly at the sight of us.

"Come in" He opens the door wider, letting the four of us through. He walks back behind his desk, sitting in his chair. "You are all here because you want to know about Y/n right?"

We nod and he closes his eyes. "Captain, she's left and she didn't take her cloak" I place it on the desk and he lets out a small breath

"I guess I have no choice then" He stands up. "As you all know, Y/n is the holder of the Golden Heart Grimoire, as in the legend. The night she received her Grimoire, her entire family was killed. In fear for her life, she ran from the Heart kingdom and traveled for a few days before Julius found her. She explained her situation, and he agreed to allow her to stay here. He then asked me to let her join the squad, which I did. She explained her concern to me, and I provided her a fake Grimoire cover that is created with magic to make it seem like she was from here." He stops for a minute. "The reason she kept her powers a secret wasn't to deceive everyone, her motive was she wanted to protect the people she cared about, which was everyone here, from the people who killed her family"

Everyone stays silent. I exchange glances with Noelle, then look at Yuno, who wears a serious expression on his face.

"We need to find her" Asta speaks

"Whoever was behind the murder of her family could still be going after her" Noelle continues

"Where could she have gone?"

We all look at each other, trying to think of ideas. Yuno suddenly speaks up. "She might be going back to the Heart Kingdom"

"It would take her days to get there, and she only left a few hours ago. We should sweep the forest and see what we can find" I suggest. "Captain-"

"Go. Bring her back" We salute and race out of the room

'Hold on Y/n, we're going to bring you home'
