Chapter 40 - Changes

~A week later~

"Sylph magic: Elemental spirit dive!"

'5 minutes max, let's make it 10 this time Kaito'

'You push yourself too hard Y/n' Kaito groans and I simply let out a laugh

'You were always up for a challenge, why happened? After all, we are going against Yuno, and I know you're very competitive when it comes to him'

He clicks his tongue, causing me to giggle as Yuno shoots one of his arrows at me. Dodging it swiftly, my gaze locks in him as he charges at me, his sword in hand. I grin, flying straight upward and creating a sword of my own. Our swords clash, then we quickly fly apart, throwing our fair share of magic attacks. After 5 minutes I begin to grow tired, but grit my teeth, begging my body to hold out.

"Light magic: light arrows!"

"Wind magic: wind blades shower!"

"Dark magic: black hole!"

As soon as I close it, Yuno appears in front of me, catching me slightly of guard. I quickly put up a shield as his attack hits it, sending me flying toward the ground. I regain my footing, using the floor as a boost to send me quickly too him. He flies in a separate direction, causing me to click my tongue in annoyance, having to chase him.

"Dark magic: Dark binding!"

One of the ropes manage to catch his leg, making him let out a quiet gasp before I launch him at a quick speed toward the ground again. I quickly follow after him, seeing him laying on the ground for a split second, but before he could move, I pierce my sword into the ground next to his face and sit on top of his torso. He lets out a sigh as him and Bell separate, and Kaito separates from me. I get off him, high giving Kaito in the process.

"Now we're tied 5-5" I make a mark on a tree near us where we've been keeping score for our training matches.

"I thought this was training not a competition" Yuno gets up, cracking his neck in the process.

"It was....in the beginning. But after you beat me twice I decided to make it a contest. Now you owe me some f/d." I smile with glee as my black haired boyfriend sighs, running his hands through his hair, eyes locked on the sun up in the sky.

"It's still early, so we should go get some breakfast" Yuno says, making me nod my head and smile. He begins walking and I catch up to him, carefully locking our hands together with a smile on my face.

We get to the hall, Klaus and Mimods already having taken their seats at our usual table. We both get some food, sitting on the other side of them and begin eating. Kaito and I wear proud smiles while Yuno sits as quiet as usual.

"You and Kaito seem happy today. Something happen?" Mimosa asks, causing me to let out a laugh while Yuno rolls his eyes.

"Kaito and I have been training with Yuno and Bell lately and we beat them today. The score is tied 5-5. Although Yuno is a bit salty about it" I whisper the last part to Mimosa making her laugh and Kaito snicker

"I'm not salty"

"Yes you are"

"Am not"

"Are too"

"Am not"

"You're acting like a child" he rolls his eyes and continues eating.
