Beep...beep...beep...

It didn't take long for her to decide she hated the sound of hospitals. It all seemed so...robotic. The steady and incessant beeping of the various machines hooked up to her were giving her a headache, which kind of seemed counterproductive in her opinion. All she wanted was to be back in her apartment curled up in the comfort of her own bed. She closed her eyes and took a few deep breaths, hoping to be able to get some sleep, when a deep yet shaky voice interrupted her.

"You could've told me."

She looked over to the doorway to see Shawn standing there, pale as a ghost and tears threatening to spill from his eyes as he held a small bouquet of flowers.

"I didn't know," she sadly replied.
