liking someone sometimes makes people do weird things without realising it. same happened with me.
we weren't in the same class anymore in grade 8th, we didn't see each other often during school time, only talking like old times in the bus with all our other friends.
but i was being delusional. just because you gave me ten minutes worth of attention in the whole day, i was thinking i was someone special to you. a close friend maybe. someone important to you, someone whose presence mattered to you.
but then, seeing you not even pass me a glance during the lunch breaks because you were too busy talking to your other friends made me realise it all over again. how could i forget how popular you were? how could i forget you had a huge circle of friends, and not just me?
how could i not realise that you treated everyone else the same way you treated me? that i was just another person in your life who could walk out any day, and it still wouldn't affect you.
