"they broke up," a friend laughed, "right before jieun's birthday too!"
"damn, that lasted short," i had remarked.
"right? but hey, didn't you know about this already? you must be close to jaeyun, right?"
i remained silent, before smiling, "no, he didn't tell me a thing."
i was making efforts daily though, asking you about yourself, what you liked, what you didn't. i was just fulfilling my curiosity about you, and you didn't question it either.
i was trying to build a strong friendship between us, but it wasn't easy. it looked rather impossible. how could it be possible when i was the only one who wanted this and was making efforts?
i felt like i was making good memories daily of you, but you never truly were in them.
the phase of high school life was becoming the most special one to me because of you daily. but to you, i was just another friend you had made. i was just another person in the background of your memories till then.
