we were growing close, i could feel it. there wasn't a day when we didn't text, even if it was only 1 or 2 messages.
you showed up in front of me often in school now, you waved at me with a smile whenever you saw me from afar during the lunch breaks. you called me short in front of everyone and joked around with me in front of our friends, it was becoming obvious that you were finally appreciating my presence in your life.
you even patted my head every chance you got, and laughed everytime i hit you for making fun of me. calling me shorty had become a trend amongst our friends, all because of you.
"i'm growing, can you see this?" i stood next to you, showing you how i crossed your shoulder now, "i'm now taller than a lot of girls that were taller than me in 7th!" i boasted proudfully.
"good job," you grinned, "being with me made you grow tall now, didn't it? my influence is just that effective," you ran your hand through your hair, taking all the credits for me growing taller.
and despite not wanting to give in, i laughed and agreed with you.
