04. Sudden Visit

Mikasa's POV

When do you realize, you like someone? When you first saw them? When you first talked to them? Or worst, when you already lost them?

In my case, I never really know, but I felt that feeling when he first wrapped the red scarf around me. I was just too young to realize what the word "like" is. Maybe it's just normal infatuation, tho. Or maybe it is really it.

I touched the red scarf around my neck and smiled out of nowhere. If he feels the same, I would be delighted and terrified at the same time. What if things don't work the way we expected it to?

I shook my head like the thoughts of that is gonna vanish magically once I do that. But I just can't get enough. I guess I just like overthinking. I guess I love hurting myself.

"Mikasa? Are you still there?" Eren waved his hands in front of my eyes which made me get back to my senses. Earth to myself.

"Y-Yeah! Of course." I said and looked back at Akihiro who is happily playing with his toys. I wanna keep him in my pocket forever.

Eren's POV

I leaned back and used my hands as my only support, watching Mikasa play with Akihiro. I heard a knock on the door so I stood up and peeked at the window first. Armin waved his hand.

I opened the door and let him in. I was about to close the door when Armin called names.

"Annie! Jean! Sasha! Connie! Marco! Come over here!" Toddlers ran inside the house including our friends.

"Seriously?" I looked at Armin and he just nodded. Well then, I guess we'll have to deal with these toddlers.

"Hey guys!" And to my shock, Ymir and Historia arrived with another baby in hand.

"Just seriously? At my house? My Mom will be-", I was cut off by Mikasa's index finger on my lips.

"Very happy." She smiled and sighed.

"Five toddlers. Five Pairs." I whispered to myself.

"I got paired with Jean. Oh how I wish I got paired with Ymir. She's so much better." Historia sighed.

"Hey, it's like you are saying I am the worst person you have ever met!" Jean complained.

"Likely." Ymir smirked.

"Well I got paired with Ymir. She's approachable but hella scary." Marco said and Ymir chuckled.

"That's just cruel." Ymir said, smirk visible on her lips.

"So Connie and Sasha?" Mikasa asked and they both nodded.

"See that blonde one? That's Historia and Jean's. Ours is the quiet one in the corner." Connie said.

"Eren and Mikasa looks like they're doing great." Connie said.

"Tss. Miss Hange really wanted me to be Mikasa's pair but she just wanted what's convenient for Akihiro." Jean claimed.

"You were never a choice for Mikasa." Ymir said.

"Oi!" Jean shouted angrily.

"Everything you say is just pure nonsense. Better shut up, Jean." I said and smirked.

I learned their names one by one. Connie and Sasha's is Vera. Jean and Historia's is Theo. And Ymir and Marco's is Luna.

When Mom arrived from her Christmas grocery, she greeted my friends one by one. She even cooked porridge and bread for everyone, which they all liked.

"The porridge in our University is very bland. But this porridge is nicely seasoned." Armin said which made my Mom smile.

"Thank you for the compliment, Armin. Keep on eating kids." Mom said and feed every child they brought in the house. My Mom likes babies too much I might give her a grandchild soon. No, I don't even have a girlfriend.

-After Lunch-

"Thank you, Mrs. Jaeger for the food." They all said and slightly bowed down. Jean finished almost the whole pot!

"Yeah I think Jean should also feel sorry. He ate their dinner too." Connie said to trigger Jean.

"No, no, no. It's okay." My Mom smiled at all of them. Annie and Armin looked like they are starting to be closer to each other. They looked like they are already being the closest of friends after almost two weeks of being parents to Thasia.

We entered the house and Mom took care of Akihiro while Mikasa and I are doing chores. She washes the dishes and I wipe it dry. Awkward silence surrounded us but she broke it.

"Armin and Annie is doing well." She said.

"Yeah, you noticed it too. I thought I am the only one. Armin would always blurt out but now they are being friends." I smiled.

"Mhm. I'm glad for them." -Mikasa

"Yeah, me too." I said as I wipe the plate and put it back.

Mikasa accidentally dropped a bowl. We both tried to get but ended up holding each other's hand. I looked at her and I felt an electricity bolted through me.

"I..I'll get it." I said but she stopped my hand.

"No. I'll get it I'm the one who dropped it and broke it." She insisted. I tried to stop her but she didn't and instead, she got wounded.

-After Washing the Dishes-

I am the one who finished washing the dishes. And right now, I am putting bandage on her finger.

"I told you, I should've been the one who picked it up." Now is my time to scold her.

"But I can do it and I am the one who dropped it." Her excuse again.

"Mikasa, you should've let Eren." Mom agreed with my statement. She just looked down, not nodding, not giving any response.

"Be careful next time." I said and smiled.
