Mikasa's POV
We kissed.
And that got into me, right now when..when he stared into my eyes. And those teal green eyes, stared into mine, full of affection and sincerity.
"I'm not gonna say sorry, Mikasa. That was what I planned just five minutes ago. I like you." He suddenly confessed.
"12:00, Merry Christmas." He continued.
Out of nowhere? I thought to myself.
We both went inside with an awkward silence between us. Is that what you get when you kiss your bestfriend? Your adoptive brother?
"Let's open the gifts!" Sasha said and got the paper bag she put under the tree earlier.
"This one is for Mikasa!" She said and handed her the paper bag. I opened it and laughed hard.
"Why would you give me this?" I took out the little Mikasa stuff toy who also has its own version of red scarf.
"Figured you'll like it." Sasha smiled. I touched the ends of my scarf and stole a quick glance at Eren who was looking at me too.
"Of course."
"Then this one is for Eren! Don't you dare tell me you don't like it." Sasha's eyebrows furrowed and acted like she was angry, before giving Eren the paper bag.
He then took out a small clear box and I can clearly see what's inside it.
"Hair ties?" He said, confusion in his tone.
"Your hair is long! Of course you need a hair tie to nail those perfect man-buns that we will surely like..especially Mikasa." She smirked at me and we all laughed.
"Mikasa be looking shocked when it's literally true." Historia joked. I am sure it's a joke.
Sasha gave Marco a t-shirt. Then gave Annie boxing gloves. A paintbrush and a canvas for Armin. A set of ballpens for Ymir, and a set of lipstick for Historia. Then she gave Connie..a maid costume.
"Why would you give me this?" Connie asked.
"Come on! I saw it on TikTok guys. They wear it and they look superb! I am sure you will too, Connie." She gave Connie a reassuring smile, while everyone seemed like they were stopping their laughs to come out of their mouths.
"So here is it, Sasha." Connie handed Sasha a box. And the thing is, he got Sasha the same costume she bought for him.
"Connie! We are matching!" She laughed and hugged him tight.
He then threw paperbags at us, those were his gifts. What a nice way to give gifts. Huh?
Fruits for Marco?
"Do you think I am sick, Connie?" We laughed at his remark.
"I got a hair dryer." -Historia
"Pad of papers." -Annie
"Books!" -Armin
"What? A hairbrush? What is this for?" -Ymir
"Jeans." -Eren
"I got a green scarf." I said. Eren looked at me like he was saying I should try using other scarves. So I removed the red scarf on my neck. I was about to wrap the green scarf around me but Eren stopped my hand and wrapped it instead.
It feels better when Eren does it.
"It looks good on you, Mikasa!" Sasha complimented and I smiled.
"Don't remove it yet, it looks good on you." Eren smiled.
"Thanks."
Then it was my turn to give presents. They all liked it. Ymir and Historia loved the matching bracelets I gave them.
"Eren..", I handed him a box of bracelet.
"I thought you only bought one for the girls?" He is confused but he took the box.
"Got my ways."
FLASHBACK
"Okay, Ma'am. I'll have it packed for you." The saleswoman said with a gentle voice. But before she left, I told her I want the bracelet with a key design to it, and she agreed. Looks like Eren didn't notice that I whispered to her.
END OF FLASHBACK
"Wow, thank you." He smiled and gave me a paperbag. I opened it and saw a red scarf inside it.
"A scarf? You know that-", he then cut me off.
"I know. The old scarf is enough for you. But I wanna give you a whole collection of red scarf." I am pretty sure that was a joke so I laughed.
They got bored waiting to give off their presents so they just threw boxes and paper bags at each other.
-Hours Later-
They decided to go home at 3AM with their kids and so they did, gladly they brought the car of Connie. Akihiro, always, is still asleep. But his sleep is easily bothered.
I dressed up into my pink sweater and a pink pajama and Eren dresses up in a blue one, he is even in a man-bun. Which made him exceptionally attractive and cute at the same time.
Akihiro took up the whole space in the bed so..
"Do we have to sleep together?" I asked him and he nodded, smirking.
He lay down the matress and so I did.
Just this Christmas..I promise. Just today..
And so he took me in his arms and I hugged him back, not thinking about anything. Not even my fears and doubts. The moment he wrapped me in his arms, all the fear just went away. All I felt was safety, and relief.
