Pilot

Danielas POV:

Ughh. I had to wake up early today because manny has a soccer match. I used to be on the same soccer team but I got kicked off last week because apparently I was starting too many fights with the other teams. I wouldn't have had to start any fights but I was being pushed around and bullied by everyone just because I was a girl. Oh well I just have to sit and watch now.

We just arrived at the pitch and Gloria, Jay and I went over to the side where Jay took out a foldable chair and his newspaper, whilst Manny went over with the team so that the game could start. Finally after what felt like for forever, but in reality was only around 10 minutes, the game started. Gloria was nervously pacing around shouting.

"Go, manny, go! Kick it! Don't let him -  kick it!"

Suddenly some Boy from the other team tripped manny up and then took the ball from him. I stood up from the grass and was about to run at the boy that tripped manny but I was being held back by jay. I tried getting out of his grip but he was way to strong for me so I just gave up.

"He tripped him! Where's the penalty?!" I heard Gloria shout again.

"Gloria, they're 0 and 6. Let's take it down a notch"
Jay said not even looking up from his newspaper.

The other team was right next to the goal, manny was the only person between the ball and the goal now.

"Go manny! You can do it!" I yelled at the top of my voice.

Manny stopped dead in his tracks and started looking at this older girl riding past on her bike. He was completely distracted and the other team scored once again.

"Damnit manny!" I shouted.

"Woah, woah language!" Jay said to me, finally paying attention.

"Com on coach! You gotta take that kid out" I heard one of the moms exclaim from beside us.

I saw Gloria turn around to her so I stood up with her ready to fight whoever just said that.

"You wanna take him out? How bout I take you out!" Gloria shouted as I went to lunge at the woman but I felt jays hand on my jacket pull me back again.

"Honey, honey." Jay directed at Gloria trying to diffuse the situation before it got any bigger.

"You. Sit next to me, and keep quiet for the rest of the game" he said this time directed at me.

"Why don't you worry about your son? He spent the first half with his hand in his pants!" Gloria exclaimed at the woman before Turning back towards the game again.

I couldn't help but laugh because I did notice that boy too. Not even a minute later, a tall man came up from behind us which scared me slightly.

"I've wanted to tell her off for the last six weeks" the man quipped.

He then took off his sunglasses and shook Glorias hand.

"I'm Josh, Ryan's dad"

"Hi, I'm Gloria Pritchett, manny's mother"

"Oh and uh this must be your dad and your daughter" josh said, referring to jay and I.

"Actually-" I started but was cut off by jay.

"Her dad?" Jay questioned.

Josh just nodded and I couldn't help but laugh a little.

"No, no. That's funny, I'm actually her husband. Don't be be fooled by the uh-" jay cut himself off while he struggled to get up from his chair. Once again I just laughed at him.
