He's In Trouble

They all paused, wanting to hear Fitz's news.

"C'mon kiddos, food is gonna get cold!", Grady shouted again. "Coming!", Sophie replied loudly.

"So Sophie.... You mentioned wanting to tell us something earlier?", Edaline asked, setting plates of food out for all of them. "Oh yeah," Sophie squeezed Keefe's hand, which she was holding under the dinner table, "Keefe and I are... dating. Is that okay... Dad? Mom we all know that's fine by you." "Okay boy, let's go talk," Grady said as he stood and walked away from the table. Sophie felt a chill run through her. Tam's shadow stretched across the table to where she was sitting, "Ooooooooh, your boyfriend is so dead", Tam shadow whispered, snickering. Luckily Linh noticed her brother's antics and elbowed him, whispering something about being nice.

After what felt like an eternity, Keefe and Grady sat down and the table. Sophie noticed tears welling up in Keefe's eyes. "Can I talk to you... y'know in your head?", she whispered to him. He nodded so she entered his mind.

Sophie saw a scene start to play.

Keefe got up and followed Grady, extremely nervous. He trailed him into his office. "Sit," Grady commanded, Keefe quickly sat in the chair across from Grady. "Thank god it ended up being you," Grady sighed out, seeming way too relieved.... "Sir, did you hit your head?", Keefe asked, genuinely concerned. "No! Keefe, I've known for some time that my daughter cares a great deal for you, I give her a hard time, calling you names that aren't yours, seeming to not like you, it's just easier that way.... If I approve, and you hurt her... I'd just blame myself for being blind. If I don't approve and you hurt her-", Grady was suddenly cut off by Keefe. "Whoa, sorry, gotta stop you right there. Your daughter is incredible. She's the only person who's ever truly cared about me. I care about Sophie more than I thought to be possible, and somehow, I got her to care about me too. I will never, ever hurt her, okay?". Grady did the most unexpected thing he could've done. He jumped up and wrapped Keefe in a hug, "Take care of my kiddo, you always have a place here with me, Keefe. If you want, I'll even use my ability to get that idiot father of yours to cut you some slack." The scene stopped. Sophie had tears in her eyes too, she jumped up and gave her dad the biggest hug she could. Her friends all looked at her, as if to say, "What the absolute heck is this girl doing right now?". Grady chuckled, understanding what had happened, "I love you kiddo." "I love you too Dad."

Sophie and her friends had their Mallowmelt, courtesy of Edaline, and went back up to Sophie's room. They got back into their circle, this time the order was Fitz, Dex, Marella, Linh, Tam, Biana, Sophie, Keefe, and back to Dex. Tam pet Iggy apprehensively, Marella and Linh sat next to each other, knees touching, looking more shy than Sophie had ever seen the two of them, Fitz and Dex were just staring at each other, Keefe had layed his head on Sophie's lap, letting her run her hands through his surprisingly soft hair. "Guys, I'M BOREDDDDDD!", Biana said suddenly, making Sophie, Keefe, Fitz, Dex, Marella, and Linh all jump. Biana got that evil look in her eye, the scheming look she used when she wanted to give Sophie a makeover! Sophie hated that look so much... She shuddered at the thought. "I know," she said, an awful smirk on her face, "we should play Truth or Dare!". Nobody exactly disagreed, so it was decided, they'd be playing Truth or Dare. They, once again, went in a circle, this time starting with Marella.

"Sophie, truth or dare?", Marella asked, forming the same grin Biana had. "Ummmm...... Truth...?", Sophie said uncertaintly. "I dare you to- oh shoot, I thought you'd pick dare... Whatever, oh well, is it true that you know who Biana likes?", Marella asked, her grin growing wider. "Yes, and I'm not telling!", Sophie said, scolding Marella mentally as Biana started to blush furiously. "Alright, well.... Linh, truth or dare?", Sophie asked Linh. "Dare!", Linh exclaimed excitedly. "Hmm, I dare you....to kiss your crush on the lips!", Sophie was having way too much with this. "Gosh, fine," Linh turned to Marella and kissed her softly, the kiss didn't stay too soft though, Marella closed the last bit of space, kissing back passionately. Everyone was smirking now, it had been quite obvious the two liked each other, they just needed a little push. "Wow," Linh said softly. "Mhmm," Marella whispered, touching her fingertips to her lips, "will you be mine Linh?", "Yes! Oh yes, of course!", Linh said toppling over Marella with a hug. Tam smiled and the shadows, which had previously deepened, went back to normal. "Haha, well, uhhhh.... Tammy! Truth or dare?", Linh said as she finally sat back up. "Linhhhh," Tam whined, "stop calling me Tammy! I'll do a truth though," "Is it true you don't like anyone?", Linh asked curiously. "Yeah, of course," Tam shrugged, "I'm aromantic and asexual." Fitz and Dex's eyes both seemed to get wide at the mention of this. "Alright, that's enough truth or dare, poor Dex is probably getting lonely," Keefe said, chuckling. "Hey mister! That's my best friend!", Sophie dropped his head and went to Dex, laughing. Keefe pouted, so she felt her resolve crumble and went straight back over to him, her friends staring questioningly as he wrapped an arm around her shoulder.

Heyyyy, I'm alive! Again, sorry about my work slowing down, what did you think of this chapter? I rather liked writing it, also I hope y'all are liking my story so far!
