Classic felt his mind process the words as he once more let the genocide come to an end. He had become used to the pain before death. Normally he would see Papyrus, but this time it felt different. He spotted eyes watching it all unfold as Classic felt his body break apart. His soul tore and once more he was whisked away into the darkness. At least until he awoke once more in his bed, his brothers usual yelling waking him. Again, it all was reset.
He let Dusts words linger, drowning him in his own doubts. Was there really a way around this pointless cycle? It made him curious and while he knew curiosity could be deadly, he was also to the point that the constant routine was bearing down on him. He wanted change and someone finally offered it to him, even when Ink had refused. The supposed 'protector' deemed it safer for him in Undertale, but safer in what way? Sure, he wouldn't die permanently. But the constant suffering was heavy on his conscious. Sighing lightly, Classic wandered from the house without much care for his brother. He was too busy thinking over his choices.
"So... You think about it yet?" Classic had wandered toward his booth before stopping when a familiar voice drew his gaze.
"No. Give me time Dust... Killing things isn't exactly me." Dust shrugged as he rubbed his temples.
"I understand, but it might be the only way of beating the human. Once the human is gone, no more genocide!"
"I am assuming if I accept, then you'll leave me alone?" There was slight hesitation before Dust chuckled, a nod given as the response. Classic breathed out a rough sigh. "How are we supposed to do this if I don't want to kill from my Au?"
"It's pretty simple. I will take you to another Au to teach you, so don't worry about a thing. If you truly can't do it, I'll drop you back off into this unfortunate fate you bare." Classic frowned as he shrugged. It was worth a shot. He walked over before meeting Dust's gaze, hand out stretched.
"Promise me those words." A brief chuckle sounded before Dusts hand met Classic's.
"You've my word."
Stepping through the portal, Classic glanced around to the snowy terrain. It was almost exact to his, besides the box of a booth. His was at least more maintained. He narrowed his sockets before Dust seemed to sense his curiosity and rising questions.
"Before you ask, this is Underfell. It is a more violent place, though their Frisk has laid off the resets for some time." Classic felt his soul sink slightly. Once more he was becoming aware of his suffering. Of his brothers. "Now, wait here and I will be back with our first target~"
"Whatever..." He hated the bitter sweet tone Dust offered. He noticed the slight wink before watching the skeleton disappear. Leaning against a tree, he watched the branches above as snow clung desperately to it. Before long he heard a familiar set of footsteps, his gaze shifting before noticing the unconscious monster in Dust's grasp. He dropped them to the snowy terrain before smiling widely, their voice sickly sweet.
"We'll start simple on kill one. A simple kill that will give a single level boost!" Classic breathed in a shallow breath. He had agreed to this, yet so much doubt was cascading his mind. Badly he wanted to back out and Dust noticed it. A hand pressed gently to his shoulder as a hushed whisper enveloped his consciousness. "Come now Classic. This is needed, is it not? You don't want Papyrus suffering anymore. This is the solution. Become stronger and you've nothing to fear~"
"But... This doesn't feel right..." Dust wrapped his arm gracefully around Classic's waist as he leaned into his back, letting his breath tickle Classic's neck.
"It might not at first, but remember that this world is corrupted. Killing is all that matters, so level is a must. I am trying to help you save your brother and yourself!" A shiver trailed Classic as he narrowed his gaze on the figure slowly beginning to wake. Biting against his tongue, he raised his hand slightly as his eye lit up blue, shimmering under the dim lighting the early morning offered. The ground below the figure cracked slightly, stirring them entirely as they met Classic's gaze. He tried to look away, but felt a hand hold his head in place as the bones protruded the ground, tearing through the monster. The screams were soul wrenching. If not for the slight comfort of someone near Classic, he was sure he'd have been tossing up any food he had eaten recently. Blood stained the white snow as dust began to form, the smell of iron reaching them both. Classic watched as his stats rose, the level shifting to Lv.2. "See! Wasn't that hard, now was it?"
Ink stood quietly, glancing about in his doodle sphere. He was slightly annoyed in the current moment after having another run in with Error. Even so, there were more important matters at hand. Underfell had started having it's own issues. Dream had investigated before admitting someone was killing monsters. Of course, Ink assumed the bad guys were behind it. But upon speaking to them, it was clear that wasn't the case. It was rather odd to all of them knowing someone out there not only could travel Aus, but sought to kill inside them. The idea of such an incidence was unnerving.
"Hey Ink." He turned silently where he sat before spotting Dream, a partial smile present. His mind was still trying to piece anything together to offer evidence on the culprit.
"What's up?"
"Well, we heard back from Red. Whoever was killing left without a single trace, leaving about four monsters slaughtered in cold blood." Ink scowled as he laid himself on the floor.
"How did this happen? I've met almost every Au and none are this daring!" Dream could hear the rising anger. Using his magic, he let positive feelings wash over Ink before taking a seat beside him.
"I get this is stressful, but take it easy. At least it was a few monsters and not the entire Au. We'll find them and stop this, okay?" Ink nodded as he let his sockets close. He truly hoped they would. It was unsettling and the idea of another killer left him agitated. Nightmare had more than enough power and adding another to his ranks was asking to tip the balance that was there. It took everything they had to fight the group off. If another high leveled Sans appeared, Ink wasn't sure just the three of them would stand a chance.
Classic laid on his bed, starring to the ceiling. He examined his stats, a slight grin formed. It still was hard to digest killing others, but Dust had convinced him it was for the better. Plus, so long as Undertale was left alone, Classic was willing to bare the weight of the deaths. He was doing this for the right cause. For his brother. His sockets slowly closed as he let his mind wander, Dust reappearing before his closed sockets. The skeleton was so disturbed and crazed, yet the presence alone was welcoming. It left Classic slightly confused on what to think. His soul was in two different places and he wasn't sure which one was the correct one.
