i somehow got dragged to the lake with y/n and neville, spending time with y/n though so i won't complain that much

y/n and i were leaning against a tree while neville was knee-deep into the water talking about plants

y/n was paying more attention than i was, my eyes were fixed on how beautiful they looked in the daylight

my attention was pulled away from them when i heard hermione call my name, ron standing behind her

"ronald would like me to tell you that seamus told him that dean was told by parvati that hagrid's looking for you"

"i- um what" i couldnt quite catch all of it

"please don't make an repeat myself, hagrid is looking for you"

"erm..well you can tell ronald-"

"IM NOT AN OWL" hermione quickly cut me off

i stand there processing what just happened when i feel y/n by my side, they grabbed my hand

"you can ron still not talking?"

"no...but i've got to go see hagrid, i'll catch you around"

as much as i didn't want to let go of their hand, i needed to see what hagrid needed

they smiled before turning back to talk to neville

i love that smile

i grab my cloak to head to hagrids and when i leave through the portrait i see y/n

"harold i'm coming with you"

"i- what"

"i'm going, you shouldn't be alone"

i'm not gonna say no

"okay then let's go"

they climb under the cloak and grab my hand

i love when they do that

we reach hagrids and i have her stay under the cloak so hagrid doesn't see someone tagged along

"hagrid did you brush your hair today-"

"yes i did"

"right my boy erm come on"

we make our way to see the first task

"put your cloak on" hagrid says quickly

i climb under the cloak with y/n and they put their chin on my shoulder

madame maxine is why he combed his hair

THE FIRST FUCKING TASK IS DRAGONS

y/n feels my breath hitch and gives my hand a light squeeze for reassurance, i turn to the side and give a weak smile

madame maxine left and i walk towards hagrid, y/n still under the cloak but keeping a tight grip on my hand

"THE NEXT TASK IS DRAGONS ARE THEY BLOODY SERIOUS"

"i thought ron told you, his brothers bill and charlie were the ones who provided these" hagrid looked confused

i brushed it off

"thank you for informing me about the dragons"

once we get out of sight from hagrid, y/n comes out from under the cloak and pulls me into a big hug
