i walked down the long corridor, admiring the detailing on the walls when a voice spoke from behind me
"hey"
i turn around and see harry, i don't respond but instead keep walking
"do you have a date to the party?" he asked as he picked up his pace to catch up
"i do actually, not that it should concern you"
"it technically should as we're still together"
he's not wrong, we never broke up, but we're not necessarily together. i keep walking and find my date standing, waiting
"hello y/n"
"you look lovely luna" i smile at her
"you do too" she softly smiled "hello harry"
he awkwardly nodded before walking away
"you two still not on good terms" luna asked as we walked towards the party
"i still don't know how i feel"
"understandable, enough about silly boys, let's go have fun" luna giggled as she grabbed my hand, pulling me into the room
"drinks?" neville asked as he held a tray
"neville hey, didn't make it in?" i ask as i grabbed a cup for luna and i
"no but it's alright, you two look nice" he smiled, his face turning a faint pink as luna smiled at him
"someones got a crush" i teased neville

"i've just escaped" hermione whispered
i look at her confused
"i left cormac under the mistletoe"
"you brought him?" i exclaimed
"i-i thought it'd piss off ron" she fiddled with the hem of her dress "y/n looks pretty"
"yup" i cleared my throat
"who did they bring?"
"luna"
"good, maybe luna will treat her with respect and not run around with another"
"dragon tartar?" a waiter asked as he stuck the tray behind the curtains
"no thank you, we're okay"
"just as well, they give nasty breath"
"on second thought" hermione grabbed the whole tray "maybe it'll keep cormac away" she said stuffing her mouth
"speaking of the devil" i point at cormac who was heading our direction, hermione shoved the tray in my hands, practically running out as cormac entered
"where is she off to?" he asked as he shoved a few dragon balls in his mouth
"bathroom"
snape pulled open the curtain, cormac hunched over as his stomach made weird noises, vomiting on snapes shoes
"you just earned detention mclaggen" snape spat
i try to make an escape but i wasn't quick enough
"not so fast potter" snape grabbed my wrist
"i should really get back to the party sir"
"i only wish to convey a message"
"a message?"
"dumbledore asked for me to give you his best and he hopes you enjoy your holiday. he's traveling and won't be returning until the term resumes"
"traveling? where to?"
without even providing an answer, he walked off, i followed him and my eyes get caught on y/n and luna, who seem to be having fun. y/n's laugh filled the room as they talked to luna
suddenly the room fell silent when the door swung open, our eyes falling on malfoy and filch entering
"slughorn sir, i've just discovered this boy lurking, claimed to be invited to you little party" filch spat
"fine i was gatecrashing, happy?" malfoy admitted
"i'll escort him out" snape hissed as he gripped onto dracos arm
"certainly professor" draco said in a weird tone, almost as he was happy snape offered, it sat weird with me, so of course i followed

i found a big enough pilled and hid behind it
"maybe i did hex that bell girl, maybe i didn't. what's it to ya?" draco hissed
"i swore to protect you. i made the unbreakable vow" snape bit back
"i don't need your protection. i was chosen for this, me, i won't fail him"
fail who? voldemort?
"your afraid draco, you try to hide it but it's obvious, let me assist you"
"no! i was chosen for this. this is my moment"
i was right, he is a death eater
they both left the corridor, so i started my way out after they did, but giggles filled the halls, i followed them and found y/n, luna and blaise sitting by a window, drinking what smelled like fire whiskey
"potter" blaise took a drink from the bottle (a/n hot asf idc)
"harry what are you doing h-here" y/n slurred her words
"taking you back to your dorm"
she laughed "no, shouldn't you be off shagging ginny or something, leave me be"
"i don't want to be with ginny, i want you, it was a mistake"
"okay bye" y/n snapped as she sat in luna lap, blaise chuckling
i walk away, shaking my head, at this point there's no winning y/n back, if there is, i don't know how
