"JAMES."

Bucky shivered at the sternness of Cassie's voice, and with a quick glance at Steve who sat near him on the sofa, stood up and began his sprint in the opposite direction of her.

"Don't even try and run." She said as she entered the room, crossing her arms over her chest. Bucky had just about reached the door where she stood and put a distance of a few steps between them.

"What did I do this time?" He questioned with a scrunch of his nose.

"There's a list for things you've done, Barnes." She began, raising an eyebrow at him, "But why didn't you tell me about this mission you're going on?"

Bucky visibly let out a sigh of relief and closed the distance between them, no longer afraid she was going to murder him. He wrapped his arms around her and reconnected his hands on her lower back, watching as she waited for an answer.

"I didn't want to worry you, that's all."

"You would've worried me more if you just disappeared."

Bucky paused and looked off into the air behind her, thinking. He then reconnected their eyes and sighed. "You're right."

"Always am." She mumbled as she went to close the gap between their lips, but only just about grazed them when Steve cleared his throat from the sofa.

"Listen, I'm cool with you two. But please don't grope my sister in front of me."

"I'm not groping-"

"Not in front of you? Okay." Cassie cut Bucky off as she grabbed onto his hand, leading him out of the lounge and back to the bedroom they shared.

Once she closed the door, she let out a laugh she had been trying to hold in, watching as a smile grew on Bucky's face at the sight of her happiness.

"I wonder how long it'll take him to get over that emotional trauma you just caused him. He's the literal definition of innocence." Bucky joked as he sat down on the bed.

"Meh, but didn't he play tonsil tennis with two generations of the Carter's?" Cassie laughed as she made her way over to where Bucky sat, placing her forearms on his shoulders and letting her hands dangle on his back. As Cassie leaned in towards him, he pulled back suddenly.

"Wait, two?"

"Yeah he- wait you weren't there, were you?"

"No, I was too busy being kidnapped."

"Oh right, sorry about that."

Bucky grinned as he placed his hands on her hips, bringing her even closer than before. The sudden movement caused Cassie to fall forwards, pushing Bucky on his back on the bed. Her chest lay against his as both of them took slow breaths, a small grin still playing on Bucky's mouth.

"I love you Cassie, you know that right?" He spoke slowly, his grin fading away.

She looked down at him with her hair dangling around her face due to their position. The dog tag she wore all the time dangled down and rested on Bucky's chest, catching his attention.

"I can't believe after all this time you still wear it..." he sighed in disbelief as he played with it in between his fingers, ignoring the fact that he could see down her shirt.

"I promised you, didn't I?" She whispered, bringing her lips down to his ears. Her warm breath sent a shiver down Bucky's spine, and she pulled back just in time to see his face. She smirked at him as she pulled herself up, but not off of him. He sat up and placed his hands on her hips gently as she cupped his face in her hands.

She leaned in and kissed him passionately, filling it with everything she ever wanted to say that she couldn't put into words. She poured every emotion she ever felt that she couldn't express into it, her hands grabbing onto Bucky's back as he moved her into his lap. He gripped onto her thighs as he pulled her further up on his body, letting her rest on his hip.

"I love you..." Bucky said as she let her hands trail down his chest, stopping as she got to the hem of his shirt and sliding them back up underneath the material.

"I love you too." She whispered back against his lips, finally pulling back to look him in the eyes.
