-chapter twenty-six-

"This event must come to a close."

It disintegrated when it passed me. She fell down on the ground with a thud.

I sighed. Kahel joined me, gulping down a bottle of water.

"All those fights for a measly of five chips." sumimangot ako.

Aside from Yuri, we've already participated in three more matches. I'm already so bored. I don't want to fight with those stupidly small bets. I wanna ruin people so much.

"Sina Ana 'yon ha." biglang sambit ni Kahel at tumuwid ng tayo. "Ana! Akiru! Dito!"

I snatched Kahel's bottled water. They looked sweaty and a bit wounded, parang mula sila sa isang magandang laban. How irritating.

"Kel!

Kahel answered in my place.

I glared at him. Alam ko.

"Well, if it gives you any joy, Ren." "You'll be fighting Kiyara and Keian if they win in their next fight. Which is pretty sure a given na."

Tumaas ang kilay ko. Really?! Fight against those two? Now, my spirit is back! I bet the chips in there will be great. Kahit nuebe, okay na 'yon. Or any other bets that does not mean death or expulsion.

Ngumiti ako. Kiyara seemed like a rational person. I doubt she would go for dangerous conditions, with little fun and more risks. I love risking things, as long as I have control over it. I have a feeling she's like that.

"Wait, seriously? Seven measly chips?" hindi ko mapigilang singhal. "Make it nine!"

"We are the seventh duo to fight today and it is the last match for this event." Kiyara reasoned. "Seven is a perfect bet."

Grunting, I followed them to the platform. I even saw Meredith in the crowd, all serious and stoic. The Vice Chairman and the SEC president are responsible for monitoring the whole match.

Stupid people.

"Students!" Sir Dominick's voice was heard throughout the field. "This will be the final fight of the Curse or Gift Event. A match against the President of the Student Council, Kiyara, and her Vice President and twin, Keian Preston. Fighting against them is the unbeatable and lethal duo, my students, Serena Raskell and Mikhael Quant Lopez!

Their bet is a total of seven chips. The match will last for fifteen minutes. Action of forfeit is only permitted once the time passes five minutes. Well then, let the match start."
