"I'm sorry, what? Makakasama ko ang ahas na 'yan?"

Naging malamig ang ihip ng hangin sa kwarto. Tumahimik rin ang mesa na nasa sentro. Bakit nga ba naman hindi? Serena's face is filled with annoyance. Hindi lang dahil sa misyon, o sa stupid basement na super init, pero dahil na rin sa dalawang makakasama niya.

Nang makita niya si Kiyara ay hindi siya masyadong napaisip. After all, nandito ang kambal nito na si Keian. Baka bumibisita lang.

Pero ang makita si Meredith sa hide-out nila? That's a different matter.

Meredith only nudged her glasses up and rolled her eyes. "I don't understand why you have to be so hostile around me, Serena. What evil thing have I done to you?"

"Napakarami na kahit ang sampung daliri ko ay nahihiya na."

Nagpalitan ang dalawa ng masamang tingin. Kiyara decided to take that chance to ask the sensible question.

"What are we supposed to do?"

Daniel sighed wistfully, thankful that someone actually asked what need to be asked.

"We acquired information about a seemingly dangerous ability-user." aniya na nagpakuha sa kanilang atensiyon. "He's not extremely dangerous, but his ability is a nuisance. He can copy abilities of people he's touched."

Serena's eyes narrowed. Change appearance? That stupid girl is back now?

"Does he want to join our group?" Salem asked.

"The informant said the target hates the Curse Exterminators a lot, so there's a high chance he'll join us. Lalo na 'pag alam niya kung ano ang gusto nating makamit. Kaya nga kayong tatlo ang napili ko," Daniel narrowed his eyes at the three. "Hindi natin kailangan makipaglaban sa kaniya, we just need to persuade him. The three of you are very good at persuading, right?"

Keian scoffed from where he was leaning on the wall. Good at persuading? Those three? They're monsters at it. Napakabilis nilang magbasa ng mga tao kaya hindi mahirap sa kanila ang kontrolin ang mga reaksiyon nito.

"Kiyara can warn you if he has plans in copying your ability, gamit ang kaniyang prediction. Meredith can make your search easier, lalo na kapag nagtatago ang lalaki. If things gets bad, Serena can fight or use her ability to escape." Daniel smiled. "As you can see, this is not an all-out attack or one that focuses on offense. Let's say it's almost similar to covert missions."

Kiyara nodded in understanding. "Where will we find the boy?"

Bago ito sagutin ni Daniel ay may tinanong siya sa dalawang tahimik na. "Are you both agreeing to this?"
