Grace lay back and rubbed her stomach as she waited for Randy to get there

"Want some?" John asked, gesturing to his cup of orange juice, she smiled lightly and shook her head, she couldn't eat a thing right now, not until Randy got here

Around 10 minutes later, Randy walked in, head bent, eyes red and fingers trembling. John frowned at the sight of him and leaned down to kiss Grace's head

"I'll leave you two alone, I'll go get you something to eat," John said and smiled comfortingly at Randy before he left

Grace looked at Randy's hunched form, his jaw set and his eyes lowered, she frowned and tried to sit up a bit more, whimpering when her IV line tugged, Randy gasped and reached over to help her, stopping just before his fingers made contact with her skin

"Randy," she called softly, and he choked back a sob at the sweet tone of her voice

"I'm sorry- I'm so fucking sorry," he cried, voice shaking with emotion

"Look at me," she said, tilting his head up so that their eyes met

"You're my husband Randy," she said as means of explanation and he tilted his head in question

"If you said it was a mistake then it was a mistake. I believe you." She said, face straight and Randy choked another sob, burying his face in his hands and shaking his head

"I don't deserve it. I don't deserve it," he repeated distraught and Grace frowned and reached her hand over to rest it on his

"Randy, this baby that you've given me? She means the world to me, I know she's going to be the most beautiful little girl in the world cuz she's half of me and half of you. I love you yeah?"

"Yeah?" Randy asked, cheeks flushed from his tears and Grace smiled

"Yeah that's why I married your ass," she joked, making him huff out a laugh

"I don't deserve you." He said and she smiled

"That's true, but you're all I want," she replied and he smiled and cautiously took her hand, letting out a breath of relief when she tangled their fingers together

"What do we do now?" Randy asked and sighed before he met her eyes

"Where do we go from here?" He continued and she sighed

"I think we talk about it and just move on, cuz this can't happen again Rands, we put our daughter through so much things today, we could've lost her, I'm not having anything like this happen again." Grace said firmly

"I'm so sorry, I promise Grace, I promise to be a better husband and an amazing father," he said and Grace smiled

"You already are an amazing father Randy, Alanna looks up to you, and this baby girl will as well. I'll need you Randy, I need you to be here for me when I need you to be, I need you to be able to drop any and everything if our daughter needs you. You're not twenty something anymore, you can't go gallavanting with some bimbo, you need to be here for me, and for your daughters," Grace explained and Randy nodded

"Can you honestly look me in the eyes and promise me that?" She asked and Randy stared at her before raising their hands so that he could press a kiss against the back of hers

"I promise you and our daughters to always be here when you need me. I'm done taking this for granted." He promised and Grace grinned

"Kiss me," she said softly and Randy's smile swept across his face, almost splitting it in half

He leaned down and softly pressed their lips together, he brought his free hand up to cup her face as she deepened it, a throat cleared and they pulled away to look at the now open door

"Sorry to interrupt," Grace's doctor said with a smirk and Randy laughed and pecked Grace's forehead before he sat back down

"Mr. Orton correct?" He asked, looking at Randy who gave him a polite smile.accompanied by a nod

"Wonderful. I'm Doctor Beckett, I'll be your acting OB-GYN while you're in our care for the next 2 days or so, you were very lucky that both you and your little girl are okay," he said and Grace frowned when Randy squeezed her hand and his breath hitched

"Yes doctor, we know," Grace replied and the doctor smiled

"Yes well- we just want to keep you for observation to make sure the baby has not been affected and that your health is taken care of and that your delivery will go as planned," the doctor explained

"Will I be able to stay?" Randy asked immediately after

"Well normally we wouldn't let a potential cause of stress be around the patient, I heard the conversation sorry," the doctor said sheepishly and Randy looked down at his feet, ashamed of himself, but Grace squeezed his hand gently to reassure him

"But considering what I walked on-" the doctor teased with a grin

"I don't see a problem with allowing Mr. Orton to stay, as long as it's okay with Grace?" He finished and Grace nodded making the doctor smile and nod

"Okay, then I'll just take a routine check and I'll let you rest," he said with a warm smile

Grace during the check up, had not once let go of Randy's hand, nor did her eyes leave his face

After the doctor left, Grace rubbed her thumb over Randy's knuckles and smiled at him

"Can you go get John before he eats all the food in the cafeteria?" Grace asked jokingly and Randy chuckled and kissed her hand again

"Want something chocolatey?" He asked, knowing what her cravings were like and she nodded and puckered her lips for another kiss which he happily gave her before he got up and walked out

Grace sighed, closed her eyes and let her head fall back on the pillow when the door closed behind him and she rested her hand on her stomach and rubbed slow, soothing circles, grinning when she felt a little movement

The next time she opened her eyes, it was now night time and her husband's head was resting gently on her stomach, their hands tangled together again

"I almost lost you and your mom today bun,"

Grace frowned and tried to stay as still as possible so as to not alert Randy that she was awake

"It was the scariest thing that ever happened to me. I just- I made a really big mistake bun, that moment of weakness could've cost me my life, you and your mom and your sister are my life. You three are the best things to ever happen to me- and I could've lost you and your mom," he spoke, getting choked up as his free hand ran lightly over her skin

"Your mom is so wonderful babe, she's beautiful and wonderful and I love her so much, I love both of you so much. I promise I'll do my best to make my girls happy, you, your mom and your big sister, I'll always be here. I promise," he said and Grace felt a warm liquid hit her stomach...he was crying

Her frown deepened and she raised her hand to rest it on his head, his breath hitched and he sniffled before raising his head and quickly wiped his face

"You're awake, you fell asleep when I went downstairs and I didn't have the heart to wake you, so I sent John home, but he'll bring you chocolate bon bons on his way tomorrow," he said smiling through the tear streaks and tired eyes, Grace frowned again and searched his eyes

"I love you."

Randy's face went lax with relief and contentment and he leaned over to ksis her slow and soft

"I love you too," he whispered against her lips

"We'll be okay yeah?" She asked, cupping his stubbled cheeks and he grinned, watery and vulnerable and rested a hand on her pregnant belly

"Always." He said kissing her again as their daughter gently kicked against her father's hand, almost like she was expressing her satisfaction at her parents resolving their spat. They would be okay. They were each other's always.
