I Know What I Did Last Winter

Rochester, New York:

Standing outside of the hospital Tatiana looks at Kyle who stares back at her "Look, we had a great time that day, we did, but I don't think right now is the best time to be getting messy with one another"

"I get it" She replies

"I have to hand over an assignment, and this semester is stressful enough as it is"

"Kyle is fine, I get it, you don't have to explain yourself to me"

He looks at her and smiles gratefully "I can go get a beer if you want to"

"As great as that sounds, I wanted to do something a little messier tonight, so if you don't mind me, I'm going to find someone that wants exactly that"

He chuckles and then waves her goodbye

A month later

February 12, 2026
Rochester, New York:

The windows of the car are foggy, sweat runs down their backs as they both pant, short of breath, he lets out a loud moan as he comes back up, he fixes his hair and looks at her as she lays naked on the back seat "So that was something, I mean, it's been a few since I was made to feel like that" Tatiana says

"Well, I'm glad to be of service, you'd be surprised all the things the human body can do if you put your mind to it" Kyle replies as he puts his underwear back on

"Well that's good to know, oh, btw, I think they know we've been sleeping with each other again," Tatiana says

"I know" Kyle replies as he looks at her

"Wait you do?"

"Yes, we've managed to be more casual and comfortable around them and each other, but we were pretty obvious that first week"
He says

"Do you think they'll get mad"
Tatiana asks

"I honestly don't know, but we knew that might be a risk, now all we can do is not talk about it unless one of them does, and if they do, assure them that we're cool"

"Exactly, besides, is not like I didn't sleep with Samantha once and nothing happened" Tatiana covered her mouth right after as Kyle looks at her, eyes wide as the full moon "WOOOOOWWWW, you slept with WHOOO NOW?"

"FUCK, don't you dare say anything to anyone. I beg you" Tatiana says while putting her braw back on

"First of all, that makes so much sense now, secondly, if this is you begging me why do I see you putting back those clothes of yours, aren't people supposed to beg, you know, on their knees?" He said to her with a devilish smirk as he pointed to the floor of the car

"Kyle come on! We're inside a car there is not much kneeling one can do here" She replies

He looks at her and she starts to get on her knees, he leans back just a little, she takes his underwear off and begins to caress him in his inner thighs, she teases, she plays with him, he tilts his head back and speaks

"I won't say anything, but if she was into you, or there was some feeling involved, you need to tell me because all of our friendships are more important than some boring pleasure drive, even if it feels like we've already fucked them up" Kyle lets out a moan as he tries to catch his breath, she brings her head back up and looks at him "We got drunk, I'd just broken up with Lilian, just like us, she got curious, and in the heat of the moment one thing let to another and so that's all, but there wasn't any feeling involve that I know off."

"Good; Now, why don't you come here" He grabs her and pulls her up throws her on her back, and starts playing with her as she asks for more...

July 19, 2028
Rochester, New York:

It's a hot summer night, Kyle is in his apartment, he walks back and forth, he stares at the phone, he waits for news, but what could that news be.

Five minutes pacing, and the phone rings "Kyle? There is someone by the name of Andrew here to see you, should I let them in?" Asks the Security guard

"Yes"

After a few minutes, Kyle comes to the door and Melton is standing there with his hand in the air "I come in peace" Kyle looks at him dead in the eyes "What do you want Melton?"

"Auch, that's the welcome back I get after all this time? Where's the hug, the smile, the "come in" the drinks" Melton says standing in the hallway

"That's what you get when you move to another state and show up here years later without saying anything after pretty much the same amount of time without calling, you want parties, and drinks, and hugs and shit, go back to Atlanta I'm sure they'll be happy to see you"

"Kyle come on, I know I was distant, but I thought of you every day, I just didn't want to bother you, with everything that you had going on and all"

"Bullshit, you started a new life and forgot about the one you had here. Meanwhile, I could've used a friend, MY BEST FRIEND, and what did he do, he ditched me" Kyle said with pain in his eyes

"I know I haven't been the best of a friend, but I'm back, for you, for us, as I promised you I would, so what do you say about inviting me in and we can catch up on everything that's been going on"

Kyle moves to pass the door and lets him in "Don't think this means I'm no longer angry at you because I am, I just happen to be too happy to see you and not do this" Kyle hugs him tight and Melton returns the embrace

Two and a half years later

January 24, 2031
Rochester, New York:

"I know you've taken a liking to this whole traveling to foreign countries and providing assistance but Brásil? Again? You just came from there like a month ago" Says Kyle as he sits on a chair behind the desk

"I have some unfinished things there, besides it's my final assignment in contract, after that, I'm staying, for good" Replies Melton

"And what about Ramney? Is he going with you?" Asks Kyle

"Nop, he's going back to Atlanta for a case"
