The winter chill in the air of London was steadily becoming more of a menace than it usually was. Snowflakes were sticking to the lens of your glasses and your boots were scuffing against the thin layer of snow mingled in the ice below your feet.

All you could think about was a warm cup of coffee to keep your fingers from going numb, or maybe some delicious hot chocolate to satisfy that sweet tooth that always creeps in.

Snow always brought a heavy cast of grey over London, as if it sucked the living light out of everything it touched. You didn't mind it sometimes. The sound of snow crunching with every step, traces of your breath lingering in the air like a lost spirit.

Suddenly, in the distance of the ivory road ahead of you, a red blob was becoming increasingly larger in size as it moved closer to you.  "What's she doing now..." You muttered to yourself under your breath. As soon as your words left your mouth, she yelled from afar.

"Y/N!" Her voice was chipper, almost on a high note as if she was about to sing a song. She was close enough to where you could hear the sound of her heels picking up speed. A mad woman running on snow.

She was dressed in a crimson coat with brass buttons, the hood of her coat was lined with black fur. Her glasses fogged up with every huff she let out. "Y/N," she grabbed onto your arm and interlinked hers with a steady tug.

"I'm so happy I ran into you out here!" She looked at you with a smile, her sharp teeth almost glowing against her lips. You couldn't help but scrunch your nose. "Knowing you it wasn't a coincidence.  Is everything okay?"

"Everything is perfect, Y/N!" Her smile grew wider as she lifted her head up to the sky. "I love this weather. Have you ever seen anything more beautiful than blood splattered on fresh fallen snow?"
You turned to look at her, she was still watching the flakes fall from the sky.

"I don't like being cold." You said to her. She looked back down with narrow eyes. "You have no one to keep you warm, huh, Y/N?" Grell pressed herself closer against you. You couldn't help but tense up a little.

"I didn't say that Grell. I just don't like being cold.  Who likes being cold?" You felt Grell press her slender fingers into your arm for a moment. She slipped her arm away from you and wrapped it around your waist.

"It's not what you said, Y/N. It's how you said it." Grell's hand was now on your side. You felt her gloved fingers softly rub up and down your waist. "Is that any better?" She cooed playfully.

You felt your face heat up immediately, turning your head away so she couldn't see the hot color rising in your cheeks. Grell's body heat was like a tight embrace in itself despite her only having one arm around you.

You could already see the lights to your apartment building. Grell continued to lean in close to you, keeping a firm grip on your body. "I can walk alone from here, Grell. We'll see each other tomorrow?"

Grell stood there silently. She kept her arm around you, her eyes danced around as she studied your face. You knew what she wanted. "I don't know, Grell. It's late and I'm tired. I just want to go to bed and crawl under the covers."

"Y/N! I can do that with you!" She excited pressed her knees together and pulled you into her side. "We can have a girls night! With snacks, gossip, and cuddles! You don't have to be cold tonight Y/N. I can keep you warm!"

"You want me to share my bed with you? Again?" You slipped away from her, digging your hands in your pocket for your keys. "Why not!" She cried out, inching closer behind you. "It's a long walk home and I miss you."

You were walking up the stairs with Grell as your shadow right behind you. You out your key inside the lock and turned to her. She had her hands pressed together, the little snowflakes that stuck to the fur of her coat were starting to melt already.

"Let me come in! You wouldn't let a woman walk home alone in the cold! Would you?" She rubbed her hands together. You almost laughed at her theatrics. A woman like Grell would be the threat to strangers, not the other way around.

You unlocked your door and pushed it open. You slipped your keys back into your pocket and grabbed onto her wrist. "Come on, Grell." She let out an exaggerated happy sigh, getting exactly what she wanted. The two of you walked inside together. Grell pushed the door shut behind her.

What was fierier, Grell's hair or the way she made you feel?
