28. Story of the First Love

Every day, Mu Xiyue did acupuncture to Long Yinfeng, gave him baths with medicinal herbs and fed him with medicine on time. Gradually, he could stand up by himself and walk around for a few minutes. Such progress made Yanzi and Mo Heng change their opinions on Mu Xiyue. As time went by, they slowly accepted her to move into their life and become one of them. Mo Heng, of course, no longer detested her that much.

One day, Yanzi was going shopping for some medicinal herbs. As soon as she walked out of the mansion, she saw a girl in a shining blue dress. As the girl turned around, she looked quite familiar to Yanzi. The latter thought it over carefully and memories flooded into her head.

“Oh, it’s her! Liu Yiyi,” thought Yanzi, “She was Prince Yinfeng’s fiancée five years ago. The fiancée who abandoned His Highness.”

Liu Yiyi looked up and recognized Yanzi immediately.

“Morning, Yanzi. It’s you? I’m Yiyi.” greeted Liu Yiyi with a smile.

“Morning, Miss Liu!” replied Yanzi indifferently.

“Why are you here, Yanzi? Shouldn’t you be in the imperial palace with Yinfeng?” asked Liu Yiyi.

“His Highness has moved out. I’m going to buy some medicinal herbs for him.” replied Yanzi.

Liu Yiyi was thrilled when she heard that Long Yinfeng had moved out! She had been married to the legitimate son of a minister, but over the past five years, she still missed Long Yinfeng. The past between them was still unforgettable to her.

Pretending she was up to something, she said flatly, “Well, Yanzi, I’ll visit Yinfeng someday. It’s been years since I last saw him. I wonder if he’s living a happy life. So much for today. See you.”

After Liu Yiyi left, Yanzi returned home immediately. She told Mo Heng what happened, while Mo Heng asked her not to tell Prince Yinfeng. Yanzi did what he said.

When Liu Yiyi went back to her bedroom, she was still thinking of Long Yinfeng. She was so lost in thought that she didn’t even notice it when her husband walked in. Her husband, Gu Xi, pushed the door in, hugged Liu Yiyi and kissed her rudely, seeming to be quite drunk. As he kissed, he fondled over her body and even began to tear up her dress! Liu Yiyi struggled desperately! Gu Xi slapped her immediately, and he yelled, “You bitch! I’m your husband! How dare you struggle!”

His patience began to wear thin, and he lost the sexual interest all of a sudden.

In the past five years, Liu Yiyi never enjoyed a good life. Her husband Gu Xi was the legitimate son of a minister. However, he did nothing, but gamble and drink. When he got hammered, he beat her sometimes! He never made a good husband. The more Liu Yiyi thought, the sadder she felt. Tears were running down her cheeks.

“If I hadn’t broken off my engagement to Yinfeng, I would still be with him now. And he would care for me!” thought Liu Yiyi, the regret filling her.

She thought fondly of the past that she spent with Long Yinfeng.

Within minutes, Gu Xi fell asleep on his stomach, snoring like a pig. Liu Yiyi pushed him away impatiently and went back to the side room.

She felt bad about what she was suffering, meanwhile she began to imagine. “I’ll go talk with Long Yinfeng. He’s disabled now, but still a prince. He’s kind of a better choice.”

The next day, Liu Yiyi decided to visit Long Yinfeng after thinking it over again and again.

She put on a pink blouse and a soft green dress. With silky waist-length hair, she looked plain, but still elegance. Wearing a perfect make-up, Liu Yiyi talked to herself in the mirror, “Liu Yiyi, to get a happy life for the rest of life, you must try your best!”
