Coach smirked at you.
"Fine but I won't make it easy on you."
Coach signaled something to Kiyoko and she handed you a paddle with a big shiny black number one on it. You gulped picking it up.
"Umm are you sure."
"Yup. Told you it wasn't going to be easy."
Coach knew what he was doing. Putting you in the captains place. Possibly the biggest shoes to fill. Not to mention he was your brother how could you replace him in a game
But Coach didn't do it for Daichi. He did it because numbers 5, 11, 9, and 10 are all gonna have eyes on you.
"Great Asahis the only one I haven't disappointed." You sulk trying to keep a smile as you run to Daichi's spot
You stan in his place waiting for the game to begin again.
"Someone get her a ball!"
"Huh?"
"Give us a good serve. Little Daichi!!!!" You hear suga yell from the side lines
You gave him a nod. Staring at the ball. You heard the whistle blow.
At this moment all sound was gone. Vision has blurred. Besides the ball. All you could see was the ball. Taking a deep breath in you threw the ball in the air.
Taking a running start you hit it with your less dominant hand. Closing your eyes. And with a loud boom it slams to the floor.
"Please god tell me it isn't out..." you whisper before opening your eyes to see shocked faces all around
A whistle blows and another ball was thrown your way. Your team jumped around you. A smile ear to ear crept on to your face.
"Nice serve!" You heard Tadashi yell from behind you.
"Are you crying?!?" Suga screeched
"What nooooo" Daichi sobbed
You laughed getting back into position and hitting the ball calmer with your dominant hand. Another boom encased the gymnasium.
The Karasuno boys jump and down. Except Tsukki of course
"Are you kidding me!" Kindaichi yelled
"Well maybe if you didn't break her heart and kept it in your pants she would be on are team!" Oikawa yelled at kindaichi
"Both of you enough we won't win this if you continue yelling at each other." Iwazumi rolled his eyes
"Good job!" Daichi yelled giving you a thumbs up. His eyes were red and glossy
"Daichi stop crying!" Suga scolded
"I'm not!" Daichi yelped
"Get us another point Y/N!" Tadashis yelled
You gave him a bright smile. A part of you knew he wasn't happy for you. Put that didn't matter. Because you knew Tadashi thought he was just his serve
And if someone were to take that he had nothing. To you he was way more then his serve. He was improving everyday. When it came to receives and spikes.
And with the help of you and Tsukki he even became good at blocking.
With another nod from Tadashi you threw the ball up. Lightly touching it.
"It's a feint!" The libero of seijoh yelled
"You can feint a serve?!" Makki questioned
"Well she can." Oikawa smiled
And just like that Tanaka pushed the ball over. It hit the net falling to the ground of the other team. Giving your team another point

"She's stole eleven points from us!" Watari grunted
"They're bound to win the second set." Kindaichi growled
"If so we win the third one." Oikawa assured
"B-but what if she serves again?" Kunimi stuttered
"We block her. Make sure it doesn't happen. You know Oikawa I'm tired of you teaching these kids that end up better then you." Iwa said
"First rude. Second didn't exactly teach her. She had volleyball before I met her."
"Come one Y/N get us another point!" Asahi patted you on the back
You got in position to serve the ball. You looked at your opponents to see Kindaichi. Your nerves caught up to you and you began to shake.
The whistle blew and you threw the ball up hitting it without any thought
"Damnit sorry it's short"
The ball found its way to the others team where it was hit by the libero. Flying back towards your team
"I got it! Kageyama!" Noya yelled
"Mhm" Kageyama hummed throwing it up in the air
"Hey you short stack. Your little girlfriends watching... oh wait you guys broke up didn't you." Kindaichi smiled at Hinata.
You looked over to see Hinata stop. Leaving a perfectly set ball for no one to hit. You looked around the room as no one jumped to get it.
"Damn it Hinata!" You yelled spiking the ball to the other side of the net. Leaving no blockers nor a libero in your way to receive it
Everyone stood there looking at you.
"Who is this girl"
"Wow she's one of the best players I've seen."
"She kinda looks like number one I can tell where she got her talent from."
"I've never seen anyone spike a ball like that. Especially all the way from the back row."
"She's crazy. Who knew a girl would be the best player on a all boys team"
"Now I know why the coach has her."
People whispered a whistle blew signaling you had gotten the point. Your team cheered jumping up and down.
You looked at Coach. He nodded whispering something to Takeda before they requested a time out.
Kiyoko handed you and Asahi a water bottle
"Awesome Y/N. You were absolutely awesome."
"Kiyoko is right good saving us Y/N!" Asahi said giving a smile
The girl gave you a warm smile before walking away and giving the boys their water bottles
"Why did we take a time out Coach! We are so close at getting the second set!" Hinata yelled
"Well idiot obviously we're gonna talk about what you just did back there."
"Kageyama is right Hinata."
You took a deep breath in. Coach continued
"But that isn't the reason. Y/N requested it. Now what's the problem Y/N."
You looked up from the floor.
"Thanks coach."
